A Mother's Day Card....by Anne

First of all, I am not a very good card maker so this is a stretch for me, but I wanted to share it as I love the way the addition of the one Purple Pumpkin Button so makes this card. This card I made for a challenge a couple of weeks ago, and then I managed to loose it while tidying up our house. Don't you love it when you tidy up so well that you can't find something. Anyway. It was based on a sketch at the Colour Room.
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Thanks for Looking

Layering Embellishments - Hayles

Well I hope everyone is having a fabulous Easter!! It was an early rise for me this morning with two VERY excited kiddies.

So today I will be sharing one of my favourite embellishing techniques which is layering( I created this page from a Creative scrappers sketch). Firstly I have used the XL Panda bear ( he is sooooo cute) which I have layered on top of a scalloped circle, it just makes it pop of the page a bit more especially if you have a light pp background. Sam had these Pandas in a few colours last sale plus many more variations in the XL button, including spotty buttons.

Secondly the spotty buttons which definitely can be used on ANY page looks great on top of the smaller doily which I have done on the flower I handmade using the circle scallop punch and also have used the doily and spotty button combo again in the upper left corner.

Because I didn’t have a doily small enough in the pink I actually just cut the centre out of a larger doily and next post will share how you can use that leftover piece.

Luscious Flowers made by Purple Pumpkin - Anne

Hi Everyone.

Well as you can see by Sarah's post, I have had a fabulous day down the Gold Coast scrapping. But here is a LO I put together another time. I have been having lots of fun sharing my creations with you all and reading your comments.

If you have not worked it out by now, I am what is known as a challenge 'junkie'. I just LOVE a good challenge. So this LO was inspired by one of the sketches at Sketchy Thursday but I think it is the Flower which MAKES it.

I have also got two fabulous doilies, a lime green and a mini orange one on this LO which I love with these SEI PP's.

Thanks for Looking and I hope you are having a FABULOUS Easter. I now have lots more I can share with you at a later time. Regards, Anne.

Purple Pumpkin Scrap Day by Sar

Today, while still on my holiday, I had the pleasure of meeting my co-DT'er Anne when I had a scrap day on the Gold Coast with a bunch of gorgeous QLD girls, it was such a great day with LOTS of Purple Pumpkin on our scrap table!

While the girls were here I managed to scrap a page for my 52 Weeks album, which is an 8.5x11 album in which I scrap a page a week about my life and what is happening, from being sick, to kids starting school, or exciting things like getting on the Purple Pumpkin Design Team!

On my layout I included a gorgeous pink felt flower as well as some of the ever popular spotty buttons and a gorgeous ladybird button as well.

And a closeup...

Thanks for visiting the Purple Pumpkin blog once again, and here's to a healthy & happy Easter for you and your family.

Cheers,
Sar xx

Happy Easter!

Just "hopping" in to wish all of our wonderful customers a safe and happy Easter! I hope you all get to spend lots of time with your families, and maybe even squeeze in a bit of scrapping too :)

Perfect Boy Embellishments

Hi everyone. Belinda here again today with three boy layouts. I thought I would show how absolutely perfect Purple Pumpkin embellishments are for boy layouts. Sometimes I find it a little challenging embellishing boy layouts. I really have to stop and think about what I am adding to the layout instead of just grabbing the flower jar and scattering them across the page.

So now when I am stuck and wondering what to add to my boy layouts I grab my container of Purple Pumpkin products and they are the perfect addition to finish off my layouts nicely.

Onto the layouts...

...This first layout is one I completed for the Get Picky April Sketch Challenge. The photos are of my son William dressed up as a green tree frog at the SA Museum. So out came everything green in my stash and this is what I came up with...

...The little frog on a lilypad button could not have been more perfect for this layout. I have applied Crushed Olive Distress Ink to the edge of it using a blending tool to give the button more definition on my layout. (I didn't want it to get lost in the sea of green!!) I also inked the edge of the spotty green button in the top left corner. For the green fabric lollipop flower, I grabbed my Tim Holtz Scratching Tool and just frayed the edges a bit. The funny thing is I haven't used that tool since the day I got it but now I have discovered the ideal use for it, I think I will keep using it!!

...This second layout features two photos of my son holding a tiny kitten at the school. The colours in the photos inspired me to give this layout a vintage feel and so I chose my embellishments accordingly...

...So I have clustered a few different Purple Pumpkin embellishments in vintage colours together. At the bottom right of the photos I have layered together a doily, a hessian lollipop flower and a blue spotty button. Diagonally opposite, I have grouped together a felt flower, another blue and white button and a little teddy bear button. The Purple Pumpkin embellishments all work so well together and coordinate perfectly.

...and here is my 'First Stack' layout featuring a photo of my 4yo after he had fallen off his bike for the first time on Christmas Day. The first thing he said was "I didn't hurt myself". How cute...

...and here is just a little close up of the buttons...

...I LOVE that stop sign button so much and I even found some My Mind's Eye pattern paper in my stash that matched it perfectly. I have also used a spotty blue button and a felt flower button.

Well that's all from me. Make sure you stay tuned to the blog for some more inspiration from the design team girls. I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Easter!!

See you soon.

You will also spy a little white plastic doiley....oh so cute :)))) Love them!!

Using another cute little button...love how these little cute designs just match my mishchievious little boys!

Here is a close up of the little beetle button!

You will always find something of Purple Pumpkin that will match in with your papers or the theme of your layout.  Keep your eye out for the next sale...Sam will be sure to have many more cute little designs.!

And lastly...an Easter inspired TAG, using a PP doiley and button.

Using a gorgeous Peter Rabbit button!

Not just for LO's.....

For my Purple Pumpkin Share today, I want to show you that how Purple Pumpkin can go on your OTP projects and make them just a little bit special. Here is a plaque I have made to hang in my scrap space. It is my take on the current Show us your Stuff which is to show off your buttons. You have to have some handmade, but they don't have to be made by you, so you can pull out your Purple Pumpkin supplies and go for it.

This LO has a beatiful gold flower which I believe came with a dinosour kit sold by Sam. Then you can see one of the beautiful red buttons pocking out from behind. It has a gold leaf pattern on it which coordinates so well with the flower.
Then I have another button on here which is a scrummy red button with gold buttons. It came with a Christmas kit, but I hadn't used it at Christmas and have put it on this wall hanging instead.
Hope you can see how a couple of little bits of PP can really kick your OTP's to the next level. Thanks for Looking and I have two other LO's on my blog today also featuring Purple Pumpkin goodies.

Purple Pumpkin for EVERY layout by Sar

Hello from the not so sunny Gold Coast! I am currently on holiday with my family and when you're in QLD with nonstop rain, what else is there to do but scrap?! I have spent time today creating, while my Georgia sat with me and played with pretties.

I find that I can use Purple Pumpkin embellishments on EVERY single layout I create. There is so much variety available, in every colour scheme you can imagine and it is so easy to just sit and rummage through my Purple Pumpkin stash and find something to suit.

In the following layout, Walk Beside Me, I have used a wide variety of Purple Pumpkin embellishments including buttons from the Vintage Kit, doily & buttons from the Spotty Kit, the stunning yellow yoyo flower plus the cute little hedgehog and gorgeous green button on the left hand side of my page.

A closeup of the gorgeous little hedgehog.

And the yoyo flower that is a standout on my page.

If you have a variety of Purple Pumpkin in your scrapbooking stash, you too will never be without that perfect something to finish off your page. Happy scrapping and see you again soon!

Cheers,
Sar

Versatility of Spotty buttons - Hayley

Hi everyone......

I have been looking forward to sharing some of my layouts that I have been creating with the gorgeous pack that Sam has sent us, I was all planned to share another layout but the weather and work commitments just didn't give me time to take any pics so instead I will share some layouts I created not so long ago using Purple Pumpkin, which isn't hard as they are literally on nearly every layout I create!

In this layout I have used the felt flower round with the spotty buttons accompanied with a regular size owl button

if you find that the spotty button is just the wrong colour for your layout, you can purchase the spotty button mix where you can get 8 buttons for just $8 and it is quite easy to take the button off and replace it with a more suited colour button

as you can see there is quite an array of assorted colours!

I have also used another red spotty button in the top right hand corner which is the centre of the scallop.

I also LOVE to use the spotty button as centres of flowers....they look great! and for those boy layouts there is nothing stopping you from putting them in the middle of a star...

So I hope I have given you some ideas, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Cheers
Hayles xx

Lollipop Flowers - Melinda

Hello ladies,

Now I anyone who knows me, knows that if I can tear, distress, ink, stitch do anything to alter any piece of scrap paper...I will.  And there is no exception to PP's yummy lollipop flowers. Here is what I created just by simply grabbing the fabric in both hands and using the tips of my fingers, I gently pull away, and then twist towards me to get a little ruffle...

Here are a couple of cards I created using this technique. It just gives them a totally different look!

In this one I added a little twine bow to the button.

For this layout I simply left as is, as I felt I had already done a lot of 'techniques' ie stamping, stitching, inking, distressing to the page. Also that little car button is another gorgeous PP creation!

Thanks for looking and for any comments left..
Hope you all have a very lovely weekend :))

PP OTP Project

Hi Purple Pumpkin People!!

It's Belinda again today, thrilled to be bringing you my second DT project. I thought I would try something a little different and create a Boy Card Box (because I'm always struggling to find good boy cards). Sam's gorgeous embellishments don't need to be restricted to just layouts. They are so versatile and the buttons so darn cute that they lend themselves perfectly to cards...

...So here is the lid of the box...

...and here is just a view of the side of the box...

...and now for the cards!! I'm starting with my favourite one. This card is a little bit vintage so I decided to alter the Aeroplane Button to give it a bit of an aged look. To do this I simply gave it a light spray of Sand Glimmermist which worked really well. So well in fact that I am definately going to be trying that again. Don't you just love experiments that work!! LOL So don't be afraid to alter your own embellishments but maybe practise on something else first!!...

...oh and I couldn't wait to use the lovely and bright XL Panda button on this card...

...now for this card the fabulous XL Penguin button didn't have quite the right shade of green in the background. Solution: I rubbed in some Crushed Olive Distress Ink to change the green and it worked a treat...

...I really love this gorgeous XL Tiger Button...

...the owl button...

...and here they all are together in a group shot (just before the wind blew them all down!! LOL)...

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope this has inspired you to use your Purple Pumpkin embellies in an OTP project too.

Cheers

Focusing on XL Buttons - Melinda

Hello ladies :))

Well how excited am I to be part of such a fabulous & inspiring Design Team and to be posting my first blog post!! I have always been a HUGE fan of Sam's gorgeous creations, from just about the start.  You will find just about every layout I do, I always reach for my PP embellishments to add..I reckon they always finish it off.

Hope you all have been enjoying the latest creations from the DT....I know I sure have and there will be definitely heaps more :))

Today I am going to show you how special and unique PP's buttons are.  Especially the XL ones.  As soon as I received my DT pack and saw this gorgeous Panda Bear button, I instantly knew what I was going to scrap about and how I was going to use it.

Do you have moments in your life that you have a story you want to record but no photos or no suitable photos to scrap with?? I have plenty but this was definitely a moment in our lives that I wanted to remember.  When you have a child that swallows money ($2) and realise, they need help, the last thing I thought about was my camera, plus I had a screaming, hungry newborn!!! But its something that happened in my little boys life that I wanted to record.

So without waffling on anymore, I wanted the Panda Bear XL button (mine is in red) to be the focal point of the layout.  Here is what I created:

That Moment.....

How gorgeous is that button...really suited my layout I think! This is only one example on how to use them...there are a zillion more...no rules to scrapping remember!

Thanks so much for stopping by and any comments left.  Hopefully I have somewhat inspired you to get those XL buttons out and put them to good use or to purchase some at the next SALE!! Remember to check back each day...there will be something inspiring for you from each member of the DT right up until the week before the sale!

Happy Scrapping :))

Bright and Chirpy

Hi everyone!!
Welcome to my very first post as Design Team member. Now I would love to say that bright and chirpy describes myself first thing in the morning but sadly it doesn't!! LOL It does, however, describe the layout I have to share with you today...

So I have chosen a beautiful selection of yellow Purple Pumpkin embellishments on this layout to coordinate with my adorable little chicken. I have used a doily and a mini doily as well as spotty buttons and a lollipop flower. These embellies are absolutely perfect for layering on top of chipboard pieces as I have done here with the chippie birds. They look great added to your layout in a cluster too.

Thanks so much for stopping by Purple Pumpkinites. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another gorgeous design team share.

Have a great day!
Belinda
