Missing Teeth - By Crece

Hello everyone. What a year it has been. 2012 has been jam packed full for myself and my family and we cant wait to see what 2013 has install for all of us.

Have you had a chance to scrap over this festive season, I have managed to squeeze in some Scrapping time for myself - something that ant other year would not of even been possible.

Today I have 2 layouts I would love to share with you.

The first is of my youngest son, Fletcher. This photo was taken the morning his 2nd top front tooth had fallen out. I love seeing photos/layouts of children that have their missing front teeth, they look so cute.

I have used a little of my Purple Pumpkin Stash on this layout...lets look at the close ups...

Washi Tape, I love this stuff...I have sooooo many rolls it isn't funny, the green Button also came from a lucky dip bag from a while back.

I love these Crochet flowers , teamed with these spotted buttons, fabbo!!

This next layout was one I created the other night with the help from Fletch. He picked the papers and photos and told me I had to use some tickets....and here is what I came up with...

Crusin' is of the boys at Sea World a couple of years ago on one of the rides. They love going to the theme parks, so glad they were given yearly passes for Christmas.

And here are the close ups of the Purple Pumpkin items used...

The tickets (Fletcher's choice) these are great to use on layouts, head on over to the Purple Pumpkin Online store and check out all the colours they come in!
I have also used this cute car button on a bottle cap.

And here is some Twine, this also comes in many colours and is available for purchase on the Purple Pumpkin Online Store.

I hope you and your family have had a wonderful year and best wishes for 2013

Christmas Clowns

Well I hope that Christmas was awesome however you celebrate it :)
Today I would like to share a page with you featuring photos from our family Christmas. With 3 teen plus boys in the family (as well as three younger kids) we can always ensure lots of clowning around and fun!

Out of the hundred or so photos that I took over the holiday I picked out these three which really show my goofy sons personalities! Most of my paper is from October Afternoon's last years Xmas collection - Holiday Style (which i love).
Now for the Purple Pumpkin goodness, check out the baker's twine heart and the cute buttons:
The bakers twine heart is really easy to make and very effective. I punched out a heart shape from cardstock, covered the surface with dimensional magic, then wound the PP bakers twine around the perimeter of the heart gradually moving inwards until it was entirely covered. Here is a close up of the finished embellishment. You can use this tecnique with any simple shape.

The snowflake flare button is also from PP.
The final touch was the clown themed fabric button to which I anchored my journaling tag. It is just perfect for this page - and so cute!

Well, I'll be back next year and I wish you all the best for a great New Year's celebration

"Live in full color" by Vicky

"Live in full color"

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas!!!
This is a layout I made for Susan K. Weckesser using her gorgeous paper collection!
Now, let me tell you something...when you have Susan's papers in front of you, you really want to make something happy, fun and colorful!!! The papers are so good quality and the colors so vibrant...I LOVE them!!!
So, inspired by that saying "Live in full color", I made a layout with a photo of my daughter surrounded by flowers!!!

The papers were too colorful so I applied some gesso in the middle and then I used Susan's stencil in various little places and applied distress inks with a sponge! The rest of the embellies are Purple Pumpkin!

Purple Pumpkin products:
I have used crochet flowers, a doily, tickets, twine, patterned fabric buttons and the beautiful purple felt banner!

My wish for you is to always try to live your life in full color! We only have just one life to waste it....
Happy New year to you all!!!!
God bless you and your families!
Have a nice day!!

Today I'm 2 years old by Judith

Good morning everyone. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day and maybe you were lucky enough to get some scrapping goodies.

Today I have a layout to share with you using my favourite colours - red, blue and yellow. They are such a bright happy combination. I found this photo recently of my DS on his 2nd birthday taken at Toddler Gym.

And here are some close ups of my Purple Pumpkin goodies. The large multicoloured spotty button was in my boy Lucky Dip Bag which I purchased in the end of year sale, along with a selection of vinyl cogs (one of my favourite embellishments). I have also used some thick red stripe washi tape in various places around my layout. I covered some labels and card and tucked them in. I have also used a line of red tickets. You can just see one poking out from the blue vinyl cog.

For my other cluster I used an extra large red spotty button, another vinyl cog from the boy Lucky Dip bag and a spotty doily which was in last years Lucky Dip bags.

Until next time

Judith xx

May the Magic of Christmas Warm Your Heart - By Crece

T'was the day before Christmas and all through the house,
were scraps of paper, button and ribbons and a unhappy spouse.
The dishes weren't done, but the craft gifts were there,
waiting to be wrapped with a lot of care.
The children are excited, excited as can be
they cant wait for Santa to arrive to see whats left under the tree.
So as I start to pack away my Scrapbooking mess,
I Wish everyone of our Purple Pumpkin Fans a VERY Merry Christmas.

Today I would love to share with you a layout I created of my boys Christmas Card Photo. Every year Family and Friends receive a Christmas Photo of my boys to add to their collection with their Christmas card. The past few years I have been scrapbooking them so I can have a full album in many years to come. I hope this little tradition keeps on going...

here is a close up of the Purple Pumpkin Buttons I used on this layout...

I love using the extra large spotted buttons under smaller buttons it gives the smaller button a little depth. This Santa button is a one I have had in my Purple Pumpkin stash for a little while now and have been trying to find the right layout to use it on.

These heart buttons are so cute and I love the fact they come in so many colours.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas from my family to yours

'Winter Birthday' Layout by Helen Tilbury

Hi again!!  HELEN here with a Wintery layout to share with you this
time.  As I am based in South Africa, with a generally sunshiney
climate you won't ever be seeing a snowy layout from me unless
I come across some on my very occasional travels :)
I used a couple of buttons tucked in under my layers, a black & white
one peeking out there on the left & a brown paisley XL one on the
right, as well as some brown crochet lace from Purple Pumpkin
too, and a die-cut butterfly & resin rose.
These fabric covered buttons are incredibly versatile & with a small
selection on hand you can almost always find one for every layout!
Personally I love the 'giant' XL buttons, the size seems to work better
with the boldness of my pages.  The crochet lace is also lovely as it can
be used to pretty things up as well as to add a grungy effect if pulled
& frayed as I have done above.

Only 5 days to go until Christmas day!
Wishing you all a blessed family time!!

Happy Christmas from Sarah G

Hi everyone - how are your Christmas preparations going. Better than mine I hope. I have really not been organised this year and the days seem to have just sneaked past :)
Anyway I have a couple of pages to share today.

I took this photo of Sophie at the weekend. we were waiting for the Santa train to take us to the Waiuku Christmas wonderland. She looked so adorable in her dress and her favourite summer hat. She made the little glove herself from a pair of her sisters old stockings that had been put in the rubbish! She really does have her own sense of style!
I used papers from a variety of manufacturers including Heidi Swapp, October Afternoon and Amy Tan. The gorgeous string of pearls and the fabric heart button are from Purple Pumpkin and they really help to create the perfect atmosphere for the photo.
Here is a close up:

The second page that I have to share is 'Christmas Kiss'

I took the photos last weekend after Sophie and Benji had danced in their Xmas show. It was Benji's very first time on the stage and he did so well and looked so cute. Sophie did a great job of her dances too - her confidence has really soared over the last 12 months. We are all very proud of her. As I stood them under the Xmas tree to take their photos Sophie spontaneously turned to her little brother and kissed him on the cheek saying 'I am so glad that you are my baby brother. I love you'. It was such a sweet moment that I wanted to scrap about it right away before it was forgotten.
The papers I used are mainly from October Afternoon's 'Midway' collection. They matched the colour and mood of my photos really well. The gorgeous buttons are ofcourse from Purple Pumpkin!! Here is a wee close up:

The bakers twine and washi tape are also from Purple Pumpkin. They really do add the finishing touch to a page!
Have a great Christmas wherever you are and that Santa is good to you and your family :)

Tip for storing your PP products - by Vicky

Hello everyone!!

Today, instead of a layout I will share with you a storage idea that my friend Gwen Wruck gave me!

This is how I used to have everything piled up together but it took me a lot of time to find what I wanted to use each time!

So I went to a shop that sells tools and found these cases that usually men use to store screws etc.

My little daughters Nefeli & Ioli, helped me short everything out by color! They were very excited!!!

So now I have browns, blacks & whites, pinks...etc all separated and easy to find!

The same goes to tickets, twine, doilies and washi tape!!!

I hope I helped you a little bit and thank you Gwen for the idea!!!
Get your children to help you out! They will enjoy it!!!!
Have fun!!!

It's A December Winter Wonderland

Hi everyone! Debbie here with you today.  It's a busy time of the year for all of us preparing for the holidays.  I don't know about you, but my shopping is done, most of the presents are wrapped and all I have left is baking.  Doesn't seem like much left to do, but I've got a long list of cookies to make.  It's hard this time of the year to set aside some time for working on a layout, but I had some time to spare the other evening to complete this layout I made for a couple of challenges.
My daughter took this lovely picture in December 2010.  We had a snow storm that left us with lots of snow and in early January  2011 another storm hit us and left us even more snow.  All in all we ended up with over 30" of snow.
Here I used a doily square from Purple Pumpkin.  I think it's so beautiful!

Tucked under the branches is a Purple Pumpkin printed musical paper doily.

Under the flowers I have musical note button.

My layout includes some journaling contained on a white tag also from Purple Pumpkin.

The background of my layout contained a lot of masking, inking and embossing with a little glitter here and there.  Lots of fun to make, but oh so messy!

We haven't gotten any snow here yet but the weather forecaster did say the other evening that there is a chance for maybe a little this week.  I'll take a little, but not a lot!

Thanks for stopping by!
