Goodbye from Sara

Today marks my final post on the blog.

When Sam asked who would like to stay, even though I really wanted to, I knew in my heart that I hadn't been loving my scrapping as much and had been having some serious mojo withdrawals.

With that said, I seemed to have found a new lease this week and have 3 layouts to share with you.

Crazy Hair Day - loosely scraplifted from a recent Scrapbook Trends magazine. I had a lot of fun using my twine as a border on my sketch sample a few months ago, so thought I would use the same technique this time to create my circle.
 An XL monkey button
A doilie, spotty button and you can see a peek of the twine circle there too.

Many Adventures. Based on a sketch from Page Drafts.
A cluster of vinyl cog, spotty button, XL star button and small doilie. I pulled apart the circle star brad embellishment and added the doilie as an extra layer.
Rusky. This is created from one of those moments I just wanted to play with paper.
A doilie cut in half and a dog button.
I want to send a huge thanks to Sam for having me on the team for the past 6 months. It's been a blast.
I wish those members staying on and the new DT members all the best and can't wait to be inspired by their Purple Pumpkin creations.

If you would still like to keep up with my scrapping, please head on over and visit my blog.

Hi From Sarah :)

Hi Everyone :)

I'm Sarah and I live in Auckland NZ with my hubby of 16 years (Mark) and my 6 gorgeous kids ranging in age from 21yrs to 3yrs (lots of inspiration there). I am a stay at home mum and since I discovered scrapbooking 5 years ago I have been a hopeless addict. I am currently on the design team for the NZ scrapbook store Scottie Crafts, and the on-line challenge blogs “Frosted Designs”, “Stuck Sketches” and “Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge”. I have been published many times both in NZ and overseas and in 2009 I was lucky enough to be chosen as an Elite Team member for Up2Scrap, NZs premiere scrapbooking magazine.

I m thrilled to be a member of the Purple Pumpkin design team. Although I only recently discovered PP  I very quickly fell in love with all the yummy products. I love to design with bright colours and since I discovered Purple Pumpkin I often incorporate your buttons, flowers and doilies into my pages.

I also love working from sketches and putting my own twist on them and I particularly enjoy creating multi-photo layouts. I really admire the work of all the members of the current PP design team, and  I hope that my own style will complement the amazing talent that you already have.  My pages often have a whimsical feel to them but I love to try out new techniques and my style changes according to my inspiration.  I am really looking forward to creating with PP products and getting to know the PP team over the next 6 months.

Here are a few pages that I created recently using PP products:

Well, that's all from me for now. Look forward to getting to 'know' you all over the next few months.

Sarah :)

Waiting for Easter Bunny

Did a certain little fellow hop into your house on the weekend???
He did here and the girls were so egg-cited!!! This year was a bit less low key as this was Emma's first Easter with her diagnosed Diabetes. But her eyes did light up when she got chocolate that she could eat ALL DAY!

It was also my little niece's first Easter too. Next year will be the best - choco hands and face - can't wait! My mum knitted a little hoody and even stitched the eyes and mouth on so she could be our gorgeous and cute little rabbit!

This is my layout which i completed for this months Scrapjacked. If you haven't checked this challenge out- you should and maybe add some Purple Pumpkin embellishments to your Jack!

Now...

How many PP embellishments did you spot in my cluster???? Well i will give you an up close so you can see......

As you can see.....an overload...i could not STOP!LOL

Hope you were inspired by my creation and i hope we can spot your creations in our wonderful gallery.

Congrats to our new DT and returning oldies too!

Just looking...

We went to the Beach on Friday.
It was a bit too cold for swimming, well in MY opinion it was anyway.
So the kids didn't go in the water, but all managed to get wet anyway lol.
For this page I have used the newest Scrapbook Savvy kit, and added in a couple of Purple Pumpkin embellishments.. That cute denim button and the black twine set off the kit quite nicely!
As you may have read in the new DT announcement this will be my last month on the PP team! I still have a few more posts for the month, but would like to congratulate all the new DT members... You will LOVE it!

Getting "griddy" with it! :)

Hello everyone! Chantal with you today! I trust you all have had a lovely Easter break? :)

Today I have two layouts to share with you. First up, I'd like to show you my latest DT layout for the challenge blog, Scrap For Help.

Basically all you have to do incorporate buttons in your project. I love using buttons, so this challenge was easy-peasy. I decided to cover some chippie hearts in buttons and use them as cute embellishments for my layout. And here it is...

I had done a cute little "interview" with Heidi... with quite hilarious results last year. I've been wanting to use this info for a while... and tah-dah! Now I have! :)

Closie time!

I love how my button hearts turned out. These were actually very old BasicGrey adhesive chipboard hearts (with zero adhesive after the backing was peeled I might add... oh yeah - they are THAT old!), so I'd painted these hearts pink, glued pink buttons on them, layered some modge podge on top and I had some paint on my fingers so I just wiped some of that over the top of the buttons... LOL!

Did you spy that cute li'l spotty button? That's the mother of all the buttons and it's from Purple Pumpkin of course. ;)

I did that black and white border on my layout by using a paint pen, then fingerpainting white paint dots around it.

I really enjoy using a grid-like format, it's super-fun and if you haven't had a crack at it before, it really is worth a try! It's so cool if you want to incorporate lots of journalling like I did for this layout.

The second layout I'm sharing with you today is also using a free-style kinda grid format and I've just used one of the squares to journal on this time. My layout is called "You put the Spring in my Step"...

The twine (looped like a spring) and flower's from Purple Pumpkin...

Isn't that flower lovely?! I jazzed up a chippie heart with ink and a pretty stamp from BasicGrey.

This layout was based on a sketch and palette from The Color Room. The sketch didn't actually have a grid though, I made my grid base first (inspired by the TCR photo with a grid picture of a pretty patterned paper collection) then I loosely used the sketch by Lydell over the top of this.

"Gettin' griddy wid it" is actually a fab way to use up your scraps too! Or, you know when you fall in love with a certain collection, it's a great way to showcase how lovely all the patterns look together - much like a patchwork quilt!

Well I hope you have enjoyed my share today. If you do some "griddy" work, I'd love to hear from you! Don't forget about this month's sketch challenge too - designed by me! I have been so impressed with all the entries so far... truly!

TFL!

Cheers,
Chantal :)

Easter Scrapping by Sar

I hope everyone is having a lovely, relaxing Easter Long Weekend...I know I am! I have been creating, while have a crafty day at home with my girls. Bronte is at the front painting away, and Georgie is standing very proudly in front of all their paintings that they've done today!

The page I've done so far today - Where Else? featuring the new Celebrate range from Authentique and based on the April Sketch at Scrapbooking From Scratch. I have used a Denim & Spotty Red flower from Purple Pumpkin as well as some of the red & white twine on my banner.

A closeup of my journaling 'Where else does one put stickers from the sticker book while they work out where they go?!' as well the white tickets from Purple Pumpkin behind my photo.

A closeup of my Purple Pumpkin flower...

Another page I have done this weekend, at the 'Great Friday Crop' at my LSS Scrapbooking Delights.

Week 10 - A Real Tutu about us buying Georgia her first 'real tutu' which cost us a fortune but is just so beautiful! She isn't in the 'baby section' in eisteddfods any more so we decided to say goodbye to the little tutu she wore whilst performing last year.

A closeup of the super gorgeous Ballerina Button that was in the last Purple Pumpkin sale in a super cute embellishment kit.

Thanks for visiting Purple Pumpkin today, see you again soon!
