Day 5 of our designer introductions! Meet Melinda Thompson...


Hi my name is Melinda Thompson but most people know me as Min. I am married to a wonderful husband Brad of 10 years and we have two adorable boys, Riley 3.5 years, Finlay 2 years who are my constant source of inspiration. We have just recently moved to Emerald in Central Queensland and just love the quiet country life. I started scrapping around the time that Riley was born but only really became ‘serious’ about 18 months ago. Now I am hooked!! Scrapbooking to me is a wonderful combination of creative release and a way of recording our family’s memories. I love to scrap and journal about the little & insignificant details of my boy’s life. I do something scrap related nearly everyday, if I’m not scrapping I am thinking about it, browsing through magazines, online galleries and blogs or simply taking photos of my little boys. My style is always evolving, not sure if I have a style as I love to experiment with new techniques, so it often depends on what I am scrapping or the challenge. Even though I have two boys, I am not afraid to use and odd flower here and there on my LO’s. But I do love to use any distressing technique, stitching and non scrapping and handmade embellishments on my LO’s.

It's day 4 of our designer introductions, and today you'll be getting to know Belinda Spencer!

My name is Belinda Spencer and I have been scrapping since 2003. I live on a farm in the Adelaide Hills with my husband Brenton, my 2 children; Hayley almost 6 and William 4 and a half, our dog Merlin and cat Noodle, as well as lots of cows, deer and chooks (not to mention the native fauna).

My style tends to include elements of shabby chic, vintage and fussy cutting, and a touch of grunge. I love to include texture, dimensions and different techniques. I love to get inspiration from my children, blog surfing, magazines, product and other scrappers that I admire.

My name is Sarah Ward, otherwise known as Sar in the scrapbooking world. I run my own online store from home, and I totally live and breath scrapbooking. I am married to my soul mate Dan and we have three amazing children - Cooper 6, Georgia 4 & Bronte 2. These three create a LOT of inspiration for me to scrapbook, journal and they well & truly keep my passion for this craft alive.

I have been scrapping for about five years and just love collecting embellies to use on my layouts, buttons, pins and twine are probably my faves. I also love inking, I don’t think that I have done a layout recently without it, I’m addicted!! lol I also love to use layers.

Hayley has had work published in Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbook Creations and Creating Keepsakes, and has a gorgeous scrapping style that I just love! Here are some of her layouts...

Good morning!! As you all know we now have our very first design team, who will be bringing you lots of inspiration in the coming months. They'll be officially starting in April, and will be keeping the blog full of layouts and ideas for using all your Purple Pumpkin embellishments. So, before they get started I thought I'd let you all get to know them a bit better! I'll be introducing you to a designer a day for the next 5 days, and first up is Anne Patterson....


My name is Anne Patterson and I have been scrapbooking for about five years. I came across the hobby when a friend of mine invited me to go to a creative memories party when I was living in the US and I guess I just never stopped. I love scrapping and the main subjects are my wonderful sons who are 4 and 6 years of age, however I also get a great deal of pleasure in creating LO’s for friends. I cannot say I have a distinct style as I enjoy trying new things and new products. My favourite technique is stitching on my page, but I am always up for a challenge and this is what inspires almost ALL my LO's. I am also currently on the Design Team at Scrapmatts.

Yep, it's on a Monday this time! I was planning to have it next Friday, but my sweet girl turns 8 that day, so I can't have it then!! I have LOADS of new embellishments that I can't wait to show you all. I'll be photographing it all over the next few days, and sneak peeks will start next week.

Purple Pumpkin Design Team!!

Good morning crafty friends!! Before I announce the PP Design Team, I'd just like to say THANK YOU to everyone for the fantastic response to our first design team call. We received 73 fantastic entries, and it was so very hard to decide. I really appreciate the time it took for everyone to apply, and I felt terrible when I sent out the emails to those that didn't make the team :( But...there will be another design team call going out towards the end of the year, so you'll all have another chance to apply. And, as a little 'Thank You' to everyone who took the time to apply, I'll be sending out a special little gift in your next orders :)

So, originally, we (mum and I), decided that we'd have 2 design team members, but when all the gorgeous entries started rolling in, we decided 4 would be better. But, after narrowing the list down to 20, it was getting harder and harder to decide. So, in the end, we narrowed it down to 5 Design Team Members, and 6 Guest Designers.
