Fun Friday! Chantal with you today...

Hello there!  Yay for Friday, hey?

Now today I'm taking a leaf out of one of the big department stores over here in Australia, David Jones' book, and putting up a Christmas layout in September!  LOL!

Actually I noticed near the end of August all the Christmas stuff up at the above mentioned store and it actually inspired me to finally scrap this photo before this year's one gets done!  This year's been a bit like that!

So here's my layout called "Santa" and it is based on Creative Scrappers sketch #222...

I have used paint, gesso and a paper towel over my embossed cardstock for the background. :)

You can see my paper towel here in this close-up shot.  I think Santa's beard inspired me to use it... ha ha ha! ;)

I've done some fun and funky stitching on here using some red thread.  Just mixing it up a bit!  I haven't used that colour before - which is a bit weird as it's my favourite colour. :)

I've adhered a super cute fabric Christmas button from Purple Pumpkin's Store on the top of a cool 2 Crafty chipboard flourish that I painted to match my layout.  That gorgeous deer button is also from Purple Pumpkin's fantastic range of fabric covered buttons - you can check out the goods on offer at the moment right here right now!

I've also used a pink crochet doily on my layout cut up in such a way that I've managed to use it four times on my layout!

Firstly, I cut around the doily, to create a long line of crochet trim - which has been adhered to the bottom of the photograph.  I've cut the left-over middle circle in half and that's been tucked underneath the chipboard flourish and button.  The other half has been halved again and these two quarter circles are on the top right and bottom left of my layout - acting a little like photo corners. :)

I just love finding new ways to cut up dollies!  :D

Well that's all from me for today, thanks so much for visiting and have a great weekend!!!

Cheers,
Chantal
