Hard at Work...

Don't we all think this most of the time!!!

Like we don't stop and are chasing our tails and not getting anywhere. With school holidays around the corner, this may change for me...as i stay home wherever possible!! Love to have a break from outside school activities and sport.

Today i would like to share a layout based on the Scrap the Girls challenge for Sept.

Kayley is up there with some of the Riverina talent for swimming...even though she tells us she "hates"it....LOL But she is just a natural in the water.Unlike her parents whom could sink after 1 lap..lol!!!

I love my spotty buttons and they are just perfect for any project.

And i love the Rounds. This one was perfect with the star...we think our daughter is a star and always tries to do her best!

Thanks for stopping by Purple Pumpkin. Have you checked out this months sketch?? THERE IS STILl plenty of time to enter.

He's got the Island Spirit - Sarah G

Hi there from rainy NZ. I am going to share with you today a page that reminds me of tropical sunshine and cloudless skies (can you tell I am a summer person??).

I really love these photos of Benji at 2 in Fiji. I can't believe how much he has changed in barely a year. Look at those cute baby cheeks and his adorable curls :) I remember taking these photos after he got a new Fiji-style shirt. He really thought he was the bees knees!
I used a chipboard shape as a mask to spray the music notes onto the background. My papers are Amy Tangerine with a little OA (Woodland Park) in the mix.
Now for the Purple Pumpkin goodies. Check out the buttons that I arranged in a visual triangle around my page. I especially love the frog one. One of Benji's favourite memories of Fiji is of all the 'froggies' in the grass around our hotel so it was especially appropriate for this page about him.

The PP twine is one of my favourite products - I use it on almost every page I make. There are so many colours available that you can find one to co-ordinate with almost any colour scheme that you can dream up. Here I wound it around my buttons, used it as a tie for my tag and tied it into a bow for a bit of added interest :)

Oh, and don't forget to check out the Washi tape now available from PP - its another current obsession for me :) Its so versatile and adds a splash of colour to any page!
Have a great weekend everyone - and try to find some time for a little crafting.

Fun Friday! Chantal with you today...

Hello there!  Yay for Friday, hey?

Now today I'm taking a leaf out of one of the big department stores over here in Australia, David Jones' book, and putting up a Christmas layout in September!  LOL!

Actually I noticed near the end of August all the Christmas stuff up at the above mentioned store and it actually inspired me to finally scrap this photo before this year's one gets done!  This year's been a bit like that!

So here's my layout called "Santa" and it is based on Creative Scrappers sketch #222...

I have used paint, gesso and a paper towel over my embossed cardstock for the background. :)

You can see my paper towel here in this close-up shot.  I think Santa's beard inspired me to use it... ha ha ha! ;)

I've done some fun and funky stitching on here using some red thread.  Just mixing it up a bit!  I haven't used that colour before - which is a bit weird as it's my favourite colour. :)

I've adhered a super cute fabric Christmas button from Purple Pumpkin's Store on the top of a cool 2 Crafty chipboard flourish that I painted to match my layout.  That gorgeous deer button is also from Purple Pumpkin's fantastic range of fabric covered buttons - you can check out the goods on offer at the moment right here right now!

I've also used a pink crochet doily on my layout cut up in such a way that I've managed to use it four times on my layout!

Firstly, I cut around the doily, to create a long line of crochet trim - which has been adhered to the bottom of the photograph.  I've cut the left-over middle circle in half and that's been tucked underneath the chipboard flourish and button.  The other half has been halved again and these two quarter circles are on the top right and bottom left of my layout - acting a little like photo corners. :)

I just love finding new ways to cut up dollies!  :D

Well that's all from me for today, thanks so much for visiting and have a great weekend!!!

Cheers,
Chantal

STACEY WITH YOU TODAY

Hi ladies, How are we all. Todays page i have to share  with you is of my youngest daughter Hayley.
She loves playing with my sunglasses, normally she wear them upside down as she doesnt like the arms around her ears, but i took a photo of her with them on the right way.

After taking a couple of photos, she snaped one of the arms off.
I love the bird button, which i got in my mixed lucky dip.

The white doily i cut in half, then i placed the little yellow one on top.

And the heart buttons are one of my favourite, they go with anything.

Just a reminder that you all have plenty of time left to enter our sketch comp.
