A Big Hello From Julianne!

Hello everyone! My name is Julianne McKenna-De Lumen, and I thought I would drop by and introduce myself. If my name is too much to remember, I am happy to be called Jules (The Bling Princess). It's a nickname given to me by my friends because of my love (and stash) of bling.

I currently reside in Mount Barker, South Australia, with my husband, two daughters, and  8 cats. I have been scrapping for about 7 years, and have been totally addicted since my very first lesson.  My style varies greatly depending on my mood and the products I am using, but it always involves one thing - colour - and lots of it! My layouts are always feminine and pretty, and all about the details.

"MAGIC IN THE AIR"
My design team pack is in transit, so I don't yet have any Purple Pumpkin layouts to share with you yet. But I thought I would provide you with some examples of my work.
As you can see, I love my bling, and all things sparkly.

"BORN TO FLY"
This is my version of "Grunge" done with colour. I love all the metal trinkets and chipboard mixed with the flowers and butterflies. Such a fun mix of grunge and feminine.

"OH HOW I ADORE THEE!"
I am also a huge fan of fussy cutting, and masking (especially with texture paste or Pan Pastels).

"LIFE CHANGE"
I also have a soft spot for "whimsical" layouts. :-)

In addition to layouts, I create tags, cards, off-the-page projects, mini-albums, and canvases. Yes, I'm a mixed-media dabbler too! Apart from being a scrapbook addict, I will also admit to being a Pinterest addict, Twilight fanatic, organising diva, mama-razzi photographer, and insatiable bookworm.

I am absolutely honoured and thrilled to be a part of this awesome team, and I cannot wait to share lots of  inspiration with you, over the next 6 months.

If you would like to view more samples of my work, please visit my blog:

Thank-you for joining me today, and don't forget to keep an eye out for my other team members.
I know they can't wait to drop by and say hello, too!!!

Cheers and happy scrapping,
Jules xxx

'Precious' Layout by Helen Tilbury

Hello ladies!  Helen HERE, sharing my first page for my new term
at Purple Pumpkin. I am so happy to be here for another
6 months - woooooooo!!  Here's my latest creation for you!

I made this layout for the sketch challenge at The Scrapbook Store, using loads of Purple Pumpkin loveliness as usual :)  The navy spotty buttons, the denim flower, the XL rose button, the crochet flower, 2 cameos, resin flower & ticket offcut, as well as the felt die-cut circle from a Limited Edition Kit.

I used a dark background as I love the striking look that it creates
& went for a zingy navy, lime green & shocking pink colour scheme.

My white acrylic paint was basically finished so, rather than throwing it away,
I cut the tube open & dry brushed around the edges of my central elements,
thus creating a vignette effect on my page.

I also dry-brushed over many of my embellishments & love the look
that this created!  I used 3D glue dots under the petals of the denim
flower to give it some chunky dimension.

I made a frame for my photo using the free corrugated tissue-wrap that comes
on the top of biscuits in a large tin.  I inked it up in several different colours
first & cut out the centre so I could place the photo behind the frame
(that way the photo would remain flat rather than becoming
wavy when placed on top of the corrugated paper).

I used up some of my older Prima flowers here too & added a couple of
die-cut shapes (the concertina flower & the olive leaf).  I have a whole tub
of them ready to use from when I went on a die-cutting frenzy :)

Thanks for checking out my page!
I would ♥ it if you LIKED my new Facebook page HERE too :)

Have you ever thought about altering your Purple Pumpkin products with paint?
Why don't you give it a go?!
The randomly dry-brushed 'gesso' look is really trendy right now!

A very merry Looney Tunes Xmas by Judith

Good morning and welcome to a new week. Today I have a layout to share with you that is a bit out of season but the colours I have used are not your traditional Christmas colours. We visited Movie World a couple of weeks before Christmas in 2011 and all the characters were dressed up with a Christmas theme.

Spotty buttons are the perfect embellishment to finish off a layout and I have used a red spotty button and a tiny yellow spotty button here. I also used some twine from Purple Pumpkin too.

Wishing you a wonderful week. Don't forget to have a go at the sketch challenge.

Spring Blossoms by Debbie

Hi everyone, Debbie here!!!  I know last month I did my farewell post, but things change and I'm happy to say that I will be staying on for another term here at Purple Pumpkin as the sketch artist.  I love designing sketches and I hope that everyone enjoys them.  Here is my layout using the April sketch.
I created my background using a piece of white cardstock. I added a small amount of blue pastel paint in a spray bottle and diluted it with water and randomly sprayed my background.  I inked randomly with some yellow and pink inks.

My cluster includes a pink doily and pink fabric button from the Purple Pumpkin store.

Here I have used a fabric cloud button.  I inked it with some blue ink.

I live about an hour away from Washington DC, known for it's beautiful Cherry Blossoms in the Spring.  I'm not sure if the picture I used in my layout is a Cherry Blossom tree, as it was taken years ago by my daughter.  Hate to admit it, but I've lived in the state of Maryland all of my life and have never visited Washington DC to see the Cherry Blossoms.

I can't wait to see what you create using the April sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!

"Change all around" by Vicky

Hello lovely people!!xx
Today I am sharing with you a layout I made for Susan K Weckesser DT.

"Change all around"

Spring has arrived in my part of the world and you can see the change in everything!!
Nature comes alive, happy colors are everywhere and people are smiling!
Oh, how much I love Spring!!!

I have used papers from Susan's Whimsical collection.
To soften the bold background I have spread some gesso using an old credit card!
I fussy cut that lovely house and used some heart shaped gems for the smoke coming out of the chimney.

I used Susan's stencil and Smooch to color the Purple Pumpkin canvas heart!

Below you can see the sweet PP flower, the canvas heart, a doily and a pink heart button!

This photo was taken when we went on an excursion and my little ones loved picking up flowers!!!
We had a great time and it was worth capturing the memory!!

Have a nice day,
Live your lives in full color,
Be creative and enjoy every single moment!
Cheers!!!xxx
