DESIGN TEAM CALL!

I know a lot of you have been waiting impatiently for this, so here it is....our next DESIGN TEAM CALL! Our current design team have done a fabulous job for the last 6 months, and have created some beautiful projects. We think you'll agree that they have been AMAZING!! We'll be sad to see some of our fabulous designers go, but at the same time we're excited to see who'll apply to be part of our next Design Team!

Do you love scrapbooking? Do you love blogging? Do you love PURPLE PUMPKIN EMBELLISHMENTS? If you answered YES, then we'd love to hear from you!

Here's what you need to do...

Email the following to purplepumpkincrafts@hotmail.com

* A brief paragraph about yourself, including your name and address, details of any design teams you are on (or have previously been on) and a link to your blog.

* 3 of your favourite layouts, cards or off the page projects, which show how you use handmade embellishments (especially our buttons).

**If you haven't had a chance to use Purple Pumpkin embellishments before, you can still apply. (and don't forget, even though most of our items are only available during our monthly sales, you can now purchase a small selection of buttons ALL THE TIME from our SHOP as well as tickets and twine).**

Design team members will be appointed for a period of 6 months, and in that time you will receive PLENTY OF PRODUCT to work with as well as a DT Discount on all purchases during your dt term. As a design team member you will be required to

* Incorporate Purple Pumpkin embellishments on your projects where ever you can, and promote them on your blog.

* You will also be required to write 3-4 blog posts per month on the PP blog to showcase your work.

* Promote sales/giveaways etc.

* Provide a sample layout for our Monthly Sketch Challenge, and visit and comment on linked entries.

International applicants are welcome to apply.

Applications need to be in by the midnight on 5th of April,and our new design team will be announced on Tuesday the 10th of April.

I just love the newsprint layer on this one and the canvas mixed with the vinyl.

3 cards - By Crece

What a day, It was my oldest son's 10th Birthday today and we have been non stop since 6:30am!

I thought I would go with the theme of Birthdays today for my Purple Pumpkin post by sharing with you some cards I have created to put in my stash for an emergency (you know when you realise its someones birthday and have run out of time to create one-these are those sorts of cards)

 This card is a very simple design, basic lines and easy to create with left over pieces of paper.

 Here is a close up of the cupcake button I used from a kit I got awhile back - perfect for a birthday card!

 This large pink and denim flower worked really well with a square card because of its size. Once again a very simple card...but effective.

 This card has a new sneaky peak of a button soon to arrive at the Purple Pumpkin store....

They are wooden and have a very pretty flower button on them. I have also used some pink/white bakers twine.

Guest Designer - Lauren Bell

Hi guys! It's Lauren here. I'm so excited to be your Guest Designer this month! I am a huge fan of Purple Pumpkin and I have some layouts to share with you today using their products.

My son loves to draw and write little stories. I snapped a couple of photos of him deep in thought, when he was writing his last book.
I love these cute little tickets and the spotty buttons are my absolute fave!!
And I just couldn't resist using this large little boy button - it matched my layout perfectly.
My youngest daughter has the most beautiful blonde curls but they can be so hard to manage sometimes. Some days she has really crazy hair! lol This layout is based on the March 1st sketch at Stuck?! Sketches: How cute is this little mushroom button? And these flowers are just to die for!
My eldest daughter has just started Prep this year. She is so excited to be going to 'big' school and is so eager to learn 'everything'! She comes home from school and practices the letters and numbers they learnt that day. I had to scrap a layout about it. :)
I have used a crocheted doily, which I have cut in half and a cute owl button. I am a huge fan of twine and have used some Purple Pumpkin twine on my layout as well.
And there you have it! I would like to say a huge thank you to Sam for having me as Guest Designer. :)

A soft-coloured layout to share today... :)

Hello! Chantal here with you today! You may of noticed that I tend to lean towards the brighter, more bolder colours in my scrapbooking... I simply can't help it! Or so I thought! :)

Well this week I was forced out of my comfort zone at The Color Room. Because I'm a Revolving Door Artist with them this month - there was NO ESCAPE! lol! So I found this week's very soft and subtle colour palette a big challenge.

In hindsight, I'm so glad I had to do this challenge because I'm really pleased with the result! In fact, I am looking forward to using these kinds of colours again, actually! :)

Here's my layout, "Baby, Baby, Baby"...


I have also used TCR sketch for my layout (I rotated it).

I had so much fun cutting and layering coloured transparencies here. I've also done some painting, stamping, inking, machine stitching, fussy cutting and punching amongst other things too...


The fabric bird button is by Purple Pumpkin (I white-washed his wing to match the palette)...


I found this to be a really easy technique (that I've only done once before). If, by any chance, you have a fabric button that is super great for your page, but perhaps with a colour or two which my not suit the overall colour scheme, you can just white-wash it with paint and water! And it will match! Or, you can just paint one or two details using a small artist's paint brush (like I did here).

That way, no matter what, there is no excuse not to use a Purple Pumpkin button from your stash!

This soft bird button was the perfect finishing detail for my layout!

Have anyone else stepped out of their comfort zone in a scrappy way, lately?

I decided to not go BRIGHT....lol which is so not me normally but hey...i like to try..

I have based my layout on the latest White with 1 challenge for this month.

and what...i spotted a spotty button and my all time favourite...crochet doiley!

Fresh Paint by Sar

I just realised I haven't shared with you my 123 Challenge exampled from February, which featured some gorgeous Purple Pumpkin goodness!

As part of the Savvy Design Team, I created my layout for the 123 Challenge using a kit from Scrapbooking from Scratch. My page is called 'Fresh Paint' and is my gorgeous big girl having fun painting at home.


I've used a big doiley, little doiley and a spotty button (my fave!!!) on my layout, all of which you can find in our next sale on the Purple Pumpkin shop site.
