I wish...

...that all of my scrapbooking products stayed as fresh as my Purple Pumpkin embellishments!

I know there are a lot of scrapbookers out there who NEED to use the newest of new product and latest releases on their pages...and I totally get that.

The good thing about Purple Pumpkin embellies is that they work with all of your new and latest release products...but you don't have to use the newest Purple Pumpkin with them, the older buttons & flowers don't date at all! I know in my stash I have some of the first Purple Pumpkin releases and I can still use these with my new kits, new papers, new supplies without feeling like my pages look in the least bit dated.

For example, on my 'What A Goose!' page shown below I have used a new button from the Pirate Kit from the last Purple Pumpkin release (which will also be available NEXT release on 3rd June in a mini kit) right alongside some of the newest Basic Grey Woolies. BUT, I have also used in the right corner a felt flower from one of my first Purple Pumpkin purchases! I have added some extra colour by placing a blue doiley behind my flower. Oh and the twine...how I love the new twine!!!

My page...

And some closeups of the gorgeous Purple Pumpkin embellishments...

What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter what release of Purple Pumpkin you are using on your pages, they will NEVER DATE! So stock up, get as many as you can and build up your own Purple Pumpkin stash...because no matter what the Manufacturers come up with next in the way of papers, you'll always have something to match in your little (or big!) box of Purple Pumpkin.

Thanks for visiting!

Cheers,
Sar

I've also used a Hessian Lollipop Flower, and an older Butterfly Button...

Buttons and Twine...

...are definately my new addiction!! I just love them combined on a layout. So I couldn't wait to use them on the fabulous sketch for the first ever Purple Pumpkin Sketch Challenge. Here is my take on the sketch...

...and a couple of close-ups...

...This next one is about my son's wish to join the CFS when he grows up and become a firefighter. The Firefighting Teddy buttons could not have been more perfect for this theme!! I have combined them with a red spotty button, some green doilies and some fabulous green and white twine. I simply wrapped the twine around my glue bottle and tied the ends. Then I carefully slipped it off the bottle and glued into position around the buttons using Helmar 450 for a strong quick drying bond...

...and some close-ups...

...and finally this layout called "Creature of Habit". No twine on this layout but plenty of gorgeous buttons, beautiful red doilies and one stunning satin flower with spotty button centre. I inked the edges of each of the buttons with Antique Linen Distress Ink and then gave a light spray with Sand Glimmermist to vintage them up a bit. I even altered the satin flower with some Black Soot Distress Ink and Sand Glimmermist.

Here are some close-ups...

That's all from me today. I'll be back soon with some pretty girly shares. In the meantime I hope you can come back tomorrow for some more amazing Design Team creations. And don't forget to get your entries in for the fabulous May Sketch Challenge.

Have a great day.

Hello to all you Purple Pumpkin fans!!

Hope you are having a fantastic start to your week.  Here in Queensland winter has definitely started...been quite chilly & windy even during the days! Perfect scrappy weather hey!

Look forward to seeing your layout linked up to Mr Linky! You have until midnight 31st May.

All challenge details can be found HERE.

Thanks for looking and thanks for any comments :))

Some of my Faves - Hayles

Well I'm back to share some layouts using some of the fabulous Purple Pumpkin. I have just got back from 2 weeks holidays so have not scrapped for awhile but just before I left I did a sketch from Creative Scrappers and had to use yet another of the gorgeous silk flowers, these would have to be one of my favourite flowers, they are just so sweet and so easy to use on any page.

and a closer look....

another recent layout is this one using the yellow fabric yo-yo and the bird button......I just love the themed buttons, I don't think there is ever a time that I have not been able to find one of these buttons to suit my page, and every sale Sam is getting more and more varieties.

So that's about it for now and next post I should have some new layouts to share and also don't forget about this month's sketch challenge which offers some fantastic prizes....looking forward to seeing your creations.

Combining hard with soft.... Anne

I am a big fan of combining hard and soft elements on a page. Here is one that I created at the end of last month, based on a colour challenge created by the lovely Sara at Scrapbook Savvy last month. I managed to create the LO in time, but I forgot to upload it in time for the challenge.... oh well, I'm very pleased with how the LO turned out.

When I say combining hard with soft, this usually involves some Purple Pumpkin as the buttons and felties create a soft element, combined with the twine and then I put some chippy and a charm as my hard element.

Here is the final creation.

Thanks for Looking and I'm working on a sample for the Sketch challenge. Such a fantastic prize, hope to see LOTS of entries. This LO is also kind of where my idea for the sketch 'started' from, but as you can see, it is flipped and sizes and shapes were all played around with.
