Hello everyone, Crece here with todays Purple Pumpkin Blog post.
I hope you have been having a great weekend, and have found the time to do some crafting. While I was at work on Friday I managed to finish a layout which I would like to share with you. I have used the Sketch from Fancy That Scrapbookings Blog challenge as a basis for the layout.

In 2010 We took the boys to the Mayor's Christmas Carols in Ipswich and they had on display an old F111. So we snapped a couple of shots and I have had them sitting in my stash for sometime and thought I better scrap them.

I have created the layout using Kaisercrafts paper range On The Move and some Purple Pumpkin Embellies.

..."the Pig" is apparently what they call the F111 (just in case you are wondering!)

Here is a close up the Purple Pumpkin Embellies I used...this small cluster is made up of a small red doily, a spotty red button and a denim/orange flower I had from a pack of PP I got awhile ago.The red and orange tickets are great to use as a strip in place of patterned papers or borders. The colours of the PP embellishments worked well with the papers I used for this layout.

I have also used an orange doily and some white clouds (love love clouds...) on the top left.

I love when I receive a kit that goes together well and makes creating a layout a breeze. This months He's Savvy from Scrapbook Savvy made my layout today come together just like that (and that's probably a good thing since I'm the one responsible for putting them together ;) ).

I also love it when you reach into your stash of embellishments and find that perfect something to finish the page off, in this case an XL red spotty button.

I think I can say, that these NEW pink heart buttons from Purple Pumpkin are my absolute favourite button ever! I have a real thing at the moment for pink, and hearts so I guess its really no surprise lol..

I think they make a real statement on both of my pages I have to show today, and they are a definite stand out feature! :) Of course I have added some twine onto my pages as well!

They work in perfectly with my We're Savvy kit!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!

Today I would love to share with you a quick layout I created of my 2 little boys in their new School's Uniform for 2012. Emotions were high on the morning these photos were taken, It was hard to get the boys to settle as they were so excited about their new adventure.

I have used an old range of Bo Bunny papers that of course suited the theme to the layout, I also used a mask for the background with Glimmer mist.

And a close up of the purple pumpkin yummies...

The Large white Alpha Button worked really well with the colours and theme for the layout. I added the blue doily to highlight the button and added the tiny vinyl tag for good measure.

Guest Designer - Gwen Wruck

Hi Everyone...

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be the guest designer this month and have the opportunity to play with some shiny new PP buttons. As soon as I opened my pack the XL Retro girl button caught my eye. My daughter Caitlin started Prep this year and the little girl on the button had a uniform just like hers!

I have layered up a doily and lollipop flower and frayed the lollipop flower edges a bit which adds texture and softens it. I also added a bright red spotty button tucked under a flower for a splash of colour. This really helps tie the colours of the layout together.

I'm quite addicted to twine and use it on almost every page I create. I tie it in bows, loop it around flowers or buttons and tie it in knots - the messier the better. The Purple pumpkin twine is just so nice to use, it's soft and loops really easily.

I have also stacked two buttons together here to create a feature. They squish really well!

I was soooo excited when I saw these cute little lady bird buttons.. they are the sweetest. I'm sure many of you snapped these up in the latest sale.

More layers starting with a doily and lots of co-ordinating spotty buttons and flowers.

Next up is goodies from the Vintage girl kit... For this layout I have pulled off the centres of the flowers and switched them for larger buttons. This changes their look quite a lot. I have then used the centre as a spot embellishment near my cluster.

The little girl buttons in this kit were soo sweet and the ribbon co-ordinates perfectly - of course! A ticket poked behind the cluster is also a sweet little touch.

One more layout to show you. For this one I have sprayed mist onto a plastic sheet then dabbed with my finger onto the buttons and doily. Neutrals are always good choices as you can adjust them easily with paint or mist to make them any colour you like.

and last but not least an off the page project. The vintage flowers are to die for; such a perfect touch to a pretty project.

2012 Calendar Project

I have never done a project like this before but since I'm always game to try something new, I'm going to try and keep up with this one over the next year. Here is a peek at the cover.

Supplies: Calendar, Stickers (SRM), Paper (Echo Park), Felt Flower (Purple Pumpkin)

I adhered a sun sticker on the cover and felt it needed some dimension so I adhered a Purple Pumpkin lollipop flower on top. The size is perfect as you can still see the little rays from the sunshine sticker behind it.

A Purplely, Purple Pumpkin share! ;)

Hi there!

I bought some super cool stuff at the sale last night, did you? Lots of mega-yummy new goodies, as well as the trusty faves!

I've created this layout recently based on a palette at The Colour Room...

It's a purpley kind of palette, with a splash of navy blue and sage green! Different, isn't it? Well, I wanted this lovely photo with a rubbish background (hence that's why we're silhouetted!) to shine! Fun! And I found this palette to be the perfect opportunity!

I have used a doiley as a mask and used metallic acrylic paint with a paintbrush for this background.

I've journalled around my double-sided tape roll...

And my title has used a small plate as a template! Anything that's in reach is not safe from my scrapping hands... LOL! :)

I've squished my cute Purple Pumpkin black & white Spotty Dotty button with my white and purple Large Spot button together by just layering them - then pressing down on them... that's fun - trust me!!!

I'm so excited for my next parcel of goodies from Purple Pumpkin! If you didn't make it last night - you could still be in luck!!! Be sure to check out the store! :)

This is actually funny....

My daughter wore a dress for her Yr 6 Formal, but she had a pair of shorts underneath all night. She was frightened the boys were going to look up there..LOL. Mind you this was the second dress we picked for the special night.The first she said looked like a "bubble".So we took it back to the shops and finally decided on the dress in the photos.

This layout is based on the sketch over at Sketches with a Twist.

My layout today didn't actually start with the layout. I was playing with my mists onto some tags, trying out colour combinations. I was happy with how this tag had turned out and so decided to create a PP embellished tag before then adding it to a layout.

On my tag, I have used tickets, a doilie, a XL alphabet button and of course some twine at the top. A close up:

Welcome to the Purple Pumpkin Blog today! I hope your day so far has been fabulous, unlike mine in which I've been fighting with computers and wishing I was at my scrap desk instead of sitting there trying to figure it all out!

The layout I would like to share with you today is called 'St Pius Turns 50' which is a page for my son Cooper's album. His school celebrated its 50th Birthday last year, and Cooper was very excited to be there. His Daddy was a student at the school when it celebrated its 25th birthday, so that was something they had in common and were both thrilled to be a part of.

On my layout, I have used two of the gorgeous products available at Purple Pumpkin.

A big blue & red felt flower...

...as well as the blue & white twine which is just perfect for all those boy pages. Love attaching my twine with staples, nothing easier!

Happy midweek everyone...

Moving right along to my Layout i would love to share with you today...
I was playing around with some Kaiser Papers that were released last month, the colours were really not my norm but I love what I came up with, and I hope you do too...

I titled it 'You are the Son-shine of my life' cos my lil Fletchy is....

He always has somehting funny to say to cheer me up, and his hugs are extra special :)

Above and below, show how I used the Large Owl Buttons, i love these buttons they are so cute, they look fab on this Kiaser wooden birdcage.

I have used a denim/red floral button that i received in a Purple Pumpkin pack ages ago, I thought the colours of it worked well with this paper.

For today's post, I thought it only fitting to showcase a Valentine's Day project. This mini album is a gift for my husband. Shh! Don't tell.

Supplies: Album (Magistical Memories), Paper & Stickers (Echo Park), Clear Stickers (SRM Stickers), Spinner (Little Yellow Bicycle), Button (Purple Pumpkin, Jenni Bowlin), Binding Ring (7 Gypsies), Trims (Prima)

If you take a look at the little panda button on the front, you will notice that though this may not be specifically themed for Valentine's Day, it crosses over just fine and suits the theme perfectly.

Marshmallow Monday! ;)

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing with you a layout that I created using these cute pics at a yummy-named park!...

It's a lovely park, but alas - there are in actual fact - NO MARSHMALLOWS! LOL! :)

I've drawn my own leaves and grass - it was really fun making the five small photos "peek" through the blades...

I've stuck a Kaisercraft rhinestone butterfly on top of a piece of Purple Pumpkin doily trim and er, "trimmed" around it...

This makes the butterfly really stand out and I love the tactile feel the doily trim adds to this now too.

And I love this Purple Pumpkin handmade fabric flower...

I've actually glued a Spotty Dotty Button on top! :D And I've drawn some leaves onto some left-over paper and cut them out.

That rose cabochon is also from PP. They are super cute!

I've used last week's palette at The Colour Room for this layout... I just LOVE colour - do you? I especially have a liking for bright colours too!!

Mini Movie Goers by Sara

Good evening

I'm about to head to bed, so will keep this short and sweet.

Do you ever receive a package of scrap supplies and think 'yes, that will be perfect for my next layout'? I had that feeling this week when I received one of the XL vintage boy buttons from the last sale.

I had these photos of my youngest and a friend on Max's first trip to the movies. The sweet face of the boy on the button reminded of those two.

This afternoon I had a scrappy afternoon with a good friend,

and I created this layout.

A couple of incredibooth strips, a few embellies, some twine, a ticket and some alphabets,

and I got a nice simple layout!

These photo's were taken on Australia Day,

we went for a picnic, and quickly snapped this strip of photo's while we were there.

It takes less than a minute, and the family memory is there forever!

Today I want to share with you a layout I have done based on the challenge over at Scrap The Boys.

I have used Echo Park Papers, my Sew Easy Tool and of course Purple Pumpkin Embellishments.

Here is a Pic of the full layout...

And now for some Close ups...just to see some more detail...

I love using large buttons at the moment, this red with white star button worked really well with the colours of the papers I used, the stripe button was from a pack I got ages ago from Purple Pumpkin, and to keep the balance I have added a white acrylic flower ontop of a black doily.

Clouds are a favorite of mine when it comes to Purple Pumpkin Embellishments, I find that I can never go wrong when I place the clouds on a layout as they just seem to 'float' as clouds do...

I thought i would also add this little close up in aswell, I have used some yellow/white bakers twine from PP and tied it into a bow onto my camera charm, adds a little extra colour and is very simple to do.

A Double-Pager to Share With You Today... :)

Hi everyone!

Do you like creating double-page layouts? I really enjoy making double pager's every now and then. Sometimes I find the story and/or the photos seem to "call-out" for a double page spread. I'd like to share with you my latest double page layout, which I created for Get Picky's latest challenge...

(You can double click on it to supersize it)...

I had such a fun time on this - I loved creating the "scene" backdrop first to help tell the story. I've actually used alot of scraps up on this layout. Other than the two full pink cardstock pages, all the rest of the papers are scraps! Just a bit peeking out here and there... :)

And of course, lots of Purple Pumpkin. LOVE those rose cabochons. They are sooo cute! I received them in Christmas' Girls Lucky Dip! As well as that sweet embroidered flower that I've added onto my daughter's photo - it was so much like her actual hairclip... so now it's in 3D!!...

And just look at that uber cute sailor duck... it's just like a vintage Donald! That fabric button is also from PP, as well as the yellow baker's twine...

And don't for get the Spotty Dotty Button, and a "sunsetting" pink doily! :) I love adding fun details like that!

This series of photos tells the story of my daughter's first "finding" of a crab at the seaside! It was very cute, and I am so lucky to of been able to capture these little moments with my camera.

So do you like doing double pagers? If you haven't done one in a while (or not at all), perhaps you could give them another go! :)

Last year I decided to do the 'five people, twelve times' thing.

Which is where I would take one photo per month of our family together...

Last year I failed,

This year I have started again, lets hope this time I stick with it,

AND scrap the photo each month!

This is my first photo, taken on Australia Day...

Not a perfect photo by any means, but perfect to me :)

this was just a nice simple layout, and didn't call for much embellishing,

so I just have the one ticket, a spotty button, and a loop of twine!

Icing Flowers by Sar

When I receive a new kit in the mail, I love looking through my Purple Pumpkin box to find embellies to match. Purple Pumpkin embellishments just have that way of filling a kit, and adding some extra interest.

This is a gorgeous Amy Tangerine kit from Scrapbooking From Scratch, and my layout is called 'Icing Flowers'.

A closeup of my embellie cluster, including a handmade fabric flower I made plus a gorgeous bird button, tiny doiley and half of a doiley (leftover from a page i did last week) from Purple Pumpkin.

I just love the texture that shows through on this particular buttons. The soft blues are a perfect match for the page.

Design Note: If you mount the button on a chipboard shape or as a flower center, it helps ground the button and keep it from feeling like it is floating on the page.

Don't you love when you capture a side look from your child. This is an old photo of Emma, but going into Year5 this year has made me realise all of a sudden - my little girl is now the biggest for primary school - and i think she knows it too..LOL!

I decided to use pink elements on my page with the sepia look. I am happy how it turned out.Everything fell together nicely...

Aren't these buttons just the cutest...

Baby girl...

This is my sweet NEW niece, she was born a few weeks ago now,

but was brand new in this photo, less than a day old!

All along I thought she was going to be a boy, so I was a little surprised to learn she was a girl!!

But that's OK coz I love Pink lol..

I love the cute little elephant button on this page,

I think it perfectly suits a baby girl, and the twine gives it a nice soft feel :)

Do you scraplift?

I am happy to admit that I certainly do!

Some days I want to scrap with all my heart...but I just don't know where to start. Between the joys of motherhood, the busy-ness of running a business and working as well, the everyday stuff....sometimes its just to hard to come up with something original!

On a day like this I have been known to pull out a Scrapbook Trends magazine and find a layout that I love, and then I proceed to copy it! Not an exact replica by any means, but the placement or the colours or the style...just SOMETHING to get me started.

At the end of the day, its another layout scrapped and another story that my family has in their albums. And to me, this makes it ok.

Here is a layout that I scraplifted from the latest Scrapbook Trends mag, my layout is called Bronte Loves The Ballpit!

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying your weekend. It is pouring down with rain and looks like we are going to have another wet week here in Brisbane. I hope you were able to get some awesome embellishments int he Purple Pumpkin Sale on Friday Night, so many new items were available along with some trusty favourites.

Today I would like to share with you a layout i have done of my Niece Mia for a sketch challenge I found on Stick n Giggle, She was only a week old when in this photo. I titled the layout 'Sometimes Angels come without wings'

I have used in the top right hand corner a felt and button flower embellishment, and also a pink spotty button ontop of a handmade flower I made using my sewing machine (something i dont do enough of)

The papers I have used are Kaisercraft Lullaby papers which are really nice and soft pinks (and blues) really suited for baby layouts, and complemented well by the light pink embellishments that you can get from Purple Pumpkin.

Here is a close up of my handmade flower with the Purple Pumpkin Spotty pink button on top.

I love these felt and button flowers they are so sweet to use and come in different colour combos in the sales.

Hello again! I've another layout to share with you all today, because I had to take my other layout "Waiting" down. Look out for it soon in an upcoming issue of Scrapbooking Memories! :)

This layout was created for a colour challenge at Kraft it Up. I had such fun creating this...

I've used plain Kraft cardstock as my base, masked it with some AC stickers (they are really low-tack so they are great for this, actually!) and yes, that's Stickers, not Thickers lol) and glimmermisted it lightly, adding a few splatters by sqirting some of the mist into the lid and dripping it on there too.

I used pre-misted paper doilies from a previous layout, in which I'd used them as masks on white cardstock. :)

I loved using these bright colours because they really matched the photos of my daughter Lucy and her friend. On this layout I've documented that alot of her friends get them mixed up... even their teacher!

Have a look at these two cute red and white Spotty Dotty buttons from Purple Pumpkin...

I layered them by putting one partially over the other, and "squishing" them a bit. The top one dents into the the bottom one! Have you ever tried this before? It's really fun!!! :D

Waiting & Waiting! ;)

Hello there! Today I'd like to share with you all my latest layout based on last week's colour palette at The Colour Room. The colours reminded me of the modern take on the traditional Christmas colours and I'm bursting to scrap some more Christmassy pics.

These pics are of my daughter's experience in having to wait in line for such a long time for a toddler (just over one and half hours) to see Santa. It was well worth the wait of course and they had such a lovely time on all the rides inside the magic cave. The wait was better than the year before though... 2 hours! LOL! :)

So here's my layout, "Waiting & Waiting"...

I've used OA's new line "Holiday Style" here along with their green sprinkler spray. I've used some numbers for the "countdown" theme. I also used the negative sheet as a mask.

Here are a couple of closies of the gorgeous Purple Pumpkin goodies that I've used on my layout...

Check out that gorgeous PP felt flower (albeit cut up) - I love those bright pinks! And so funky too!

Peekaboo! There's the rest of it! I've also got PP doilies and doiley trims (all cut up too - LOL. That way you can also s t r e t c h them out before you glue them - they take on a different look! An example of this technique is in my first close-up photo). And of course a PP Spotty Dotty button - the perfect finishing touch, I always say! :)

This layout was a joy to make! The Christmas spirit is still going! For me anyway!!

Have you got some awesome Chrissy photos you need to scrap? This month's sketch is a great starting point to get the job done! I think Purple Pumpkin's embellishments give a real "warm vibe" to festive pics such as these. I just love 'em! :D

Hope everyone has been having a wonderful weekend. Today I would love to share with you a Double Page layout I created using some old Echo Park papers and Purple Pumpkin Embellishments.

My boys were in the same class in 2010 and the theme for the term was "circus" so on one of the days they had to dress up as clowns, and what mother wouldn't take photos of their kids when they look so cute???

This is the left hand side of the layout, i have used a vinyl circle/star embellishment, a doily and a orange spotted button...

This is a close up of the circle/star embellishment sitting on top of a folded rosette, it adds dimension to the layout.

This is the right hand side of the layout, here i have used doily, Large Monkey Button, yellow vinyl tag and some spotted buttons.

Savvy Quote Challenge by Sar

Tara's Quote Challenge in the Scrapbook Savvy forum inspired me so much this month.

The quote 'Wherever we are Together, That is Home' just led me straight to a photo of my husband & I...and as my journalling reads 'It started with us, it ends with us, we are are what makes our family'. I believe this with my whole heart - we are in this together, our babies wouldn't be here without us and our marriage...so we need to do our best to keep our world together and make our world a wonderful place for our family. Its work, every day, as anyone in a marriage would know...but its also such a blessing, a gift, something that should never be taken for granted for one day. We are lucky to have eachother, and I can still proudly say I am madly in love with my gorgeous hubby. Bit soppy huh?! Sorry, will move onto the scrapping now... ;)

A Bit of Lime Here and There...

As a scrapper, i like to have a go at a few challenges which usually are posted at the start of a month and you have until the last day to complete - plenty of time..LOL

And one of my fav's is White with 1. Of course you have to use the colour white plus one other colour. But then there is always a technique or embellishment which you have to include on your layout.

You know i love bright and funky, so when i saw that this months criteria was lime and buttons, i knew that i wanted to have a go and not miss out.

Look at these fantastic buttons from Purple Pumpkin. And a bonus was that is the embellishment which you have to include on your layout.

I dont think it's any secret that I love spots, and lots of them!!

I love to layer them on top of each other, and have done that on this layout.

I have the spotty background, with the orange spotty tape on top of that, and then a cute spotty green button on them both.. I then have the banner underneath with the stars on it. I love the effect all of the similar patterns! Other Purple Pumpkin embellies include the blue ticket, that I have used as a date label, the pink twine which has also added some extra interest to the button, and that gorgeous doilie!!

Tutu Cute Mini Album

Hello Purple Pumpkin Fans! It's Tracey blogging today with some fun ways to incorporate Purple Pumpkin goodies into a mini album.

I am all about dangles so if you look carefully at the top binding ring, you will see one of our vinyl tags hanging from a pearl clip.

I have been saving this deer button for so long....I finally found the pefect home, nestled in this flower cluster.

Another fun forest critter here on a vinyl tag.

And one of my two ballerinas just loving every moment.

Another vinyl tag used here. I used the entrie set of hearts/tags vinyl in addition to the buttons, tickets and twine seen throughout. For more details on the inside pages, you can check out my blog.

Hello! I have developed quite a love for buttons on my layouts in recent times. The top of the pops for me are any Purple Pumpkin fabric buttons. They have that lovely tactile quality and they really pack a punch on your page! Spotty Dotty buttons tend to be perfect for any layout. They come in so many colours and they match any theme!

Here is my latest example layout for Get Picky called "You Put the Bounce in My Day"...

For the large circle in the background, I used a dinner plate as a template on the cardstock and drew around it lightly with a pencil. Then after I had finished scrapping my layout I added buttons along the centre of the pencil line. It was fun and it really went well with my theme of bouncing around!

Here's a couple of closie shots...

I've used black paint pen to outline my patterned paper strips. Now I really love the "pop" factor of this Purple Pumpkin Spotty Dotty button. Red and white is one of my fave combinations... for these kind of buttons and lots of other stuff too! The lovely button stands out heaps, even though it's on similar coloured patterned paper. It almost looks as if it's bouncing into the photo... cool!

I've also used some PP tickets on there too. Just two actually, but when cut in half and kinda tucked away... voila! They then appear to be four! :)

I've used lace on this layout (shock!) which is unusual for me, but I thought they'd serve as nice clouds and it looked pretty cool in a bow with some ribbon bow buddies. :D

Backyard Fun

Is it really summer???

To pick a hot day this year has been hard to say the least. But when it was warm on this particular day, i made the most of the photo opportunity's. Emma just loves to play around the most out of my 3 girls. So i can capture the most fun & play pics of her all the time.

I love the variety of coloured tickets. They match perfectly with any themed layout.

An Ocean View - By Crece

I was going through my printed photo collection and came across the ones i used in my layout i am going to share with you today (they were from 2008). I had to do a recipe challenge over at Scrap Lounge for their Cyber Crop so decided that I wanted to stick with ocean type colours and found the PERFECT Purple Pumpkin embellies to go onto my layout.

This photo is of my boys when we went to Point Look out in North Stradbroke Island, the view was amazing, a very beautiful place to visit.

I wanted to have the illusion of the sun so used a small yellow Doily, and as it was a lil cloudy that day the blue clouds tied in perfectly with the colour scheme of the layout, I also used a navy blue spotted button

I have used this spotted yo yo flower with button, the colours just went so well with everything on the layout.

Just a quick post from me today as my brain is feeling a little fried.

I have scrapped a couple of layouts this week and Purple Pumpkin embellishments always seem to make their way on to my pages.

On this layout, I have used an XL monkey button and a denim and felt star round.

And this second layout is for the January challenge over at Kraft It Up.

The cat button was a cute addition to the top of my flower.

What Purple Pumpkin Embellishment can you....

I have so many faves and "staples" when it comes to Purple Pumpkin. My favourite embellie at the moment is, without a doubt, the twine bow!

I'm crazy about them!

I've always liked twine - baker's twine, particularly, and Purple Pumpkin has an absolutely awesome array of colours!

When you order your twine from Purple Pumpkin, the come in these cute little bows... they are just adorable! Now this is what I'm stuck on! And that's exactly what I do with them too - I get them out of their little packets and stick'em on!

Here is one of my latest layouts with another twine bow...

A nice, big and juicy orange one...lol!

I made this layout using one of the latest colour palettes at The Colour Room. Here I've misted my white cardstock with some glimmermist, using some small paper doilies as masks for my background...

...and I've also used some Purple Pumpkin doilies (cut into teeny tiny pieces). That's another little habit of mine too - cutting up my doilies within an inch of their life! They can really make a lovely little textured accent. :)

10 Things I Love....

I just love the little "10 Things I Love" embellishments Little Yellow Bicycle puts out with all their lines. I used one from the Christmas line to create this page.

In lieu of keeping all the little tags inside the present, I glued them into a column on my page for all to see.

There are more than 10 things I love about Purple Pumpkin embellisments but I think what would top the list is definitely the polka dot buttons!! I cannot get enough of these. In fact, I had three on the page and subbed one out for the reindeer just so I would have a red one left for another time. Grin... tell me I'm not alone in doing such things!

I am just so excited to be the Purple Pumpkin guest designer, I am so in love with Purple Pumpkin. Here are just some of the few layouts that I have done, this one is using one of my favourite Purple Pumpkin goodies, the Doiley, buttons and cogs

I have 4 boys, and it does get hard to find the 'right' embellishments for boy layouts, I do love using flowers but I do try to be careful as my boys get a bit oh yuck if I put to many flowers onto a layout, so I have found Purple Pumpkin feels those spots that just need that little something.
When I first saw Purple Pumpkin I was a bit hesitant to use some of the embellishments because I thought they were a bit bright, but after being given a few to have a play, I became so addicted to them and I was so surprised how the colours blended with so many of my papers, some were the perfect fit other colours were the perfect contrast to the papers.

I love the cute monkey and bird they are just so cute, and love it for my son who was 2 at the time of these photos.

Love that it works for the older boy as well. I find it really hard to scrap with things for my son who is 13. So Love that Purple Pumpkin seem to cater for that older boy.

Well I hope you like some of my layouts using the wonderful Purple Pumpkin, loved being guest designer and having the opportunity to play with more Purple Pumpkin.

My Dog Jester

WOW already into a new week of 2012...and so far so good, ive been able to stick to one of my goals for the year (not sure how long i will keep it up as I get bored real easy). One of my goals is to walk more, and its been great as my 2 boys are enjoying riding their bikes while i walk along behind them, and ive been able to meet new people in my area which is always a bonus. Did you set any goals for 2012???

My other goal has been to Journal more (or at least add more info to my layouts)
On my layout I want to share with you today I made my Title sort of my journaling...You will get it when you see (i hope)
I have used the sketch from the Show Us Your Stuff Blog

The Title is 'His Name Is Jester, But We Call Him Muffin Head'

He is 16 years old (human years) this year and thinks he is a puppy...

I have used some Basic Grey Papers along with cardstock, Martha Stewart punch, ribbon, Stamps and of course Purple Pumpkin

I used one of my dog buttons from the dog kit a couple of sales ago as well as a Hessian Lollipop around the heart I have stitched with white/brown bakers twine.

Just a quick share today, I'm really struggling to find the time to scrap these school holidays,

Happens every time I know lol..

Anyway this is a layout of Mark and Myself, a bit of a funny one, I wish I had of had time to do the journaling on it, but I just didn't.. We have been together 13.5 years now, and drive each other crazy at the best of times lol.... so it MUST be love!!

I have used a super cute babushska button on this page, she is so so cute, I wish I had some more! Also in there are some tickets, and my usual twine!!

New Year Resolutions...

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a nice start to the year. I've never been one for new year's resolutions, but this year I have made a resolution of sorts... I want to go to Fiji for a holiday! :) It felt good to document this on a layout, so it really feels like it's going to happen now! This layout is my DT sample for the latest Get Picky challenge...

My layout is called "Destination Fiji 2012". I've printed out a map of Fiji and inked and glimmermisted it to look vintage and funky. :)

I've used lots of Purple Pumpkin embellies on here. Here's some closies of them...

Here's an orange doily that I've cut in half - to use the other half on the other side of the photos, two yellow vinyl hearts that I doodled around, a lovely little rosette that I received in my Girls Lucky Dip, and a piece of pale yellow doily trim that I have used on lots of layouts...

There's the other half of the aforementioned orange doily ;). Plus a twine bow, vinyl tag and a cute wooden butterfly button... SUPER CUTE!!!

Here's some more little rosettes in white and aqua, smaller yellow vinyl tags, another bit of yellow doily trim and look at that awesome satin flower! I love it! I've given it a bit of a trim...

But never fear - I've used it right here! The off-cuts made a lovely accent - reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House, don't you think? :)

I've also done a fair bit of stamping and doodling on this one too.

I really enjoyed creating this and if felt good to get this subject down on paper! Look out Fiji, here I come! ;)

Do you have any new year's resolutions? If so, why not scrap about them? Or we'd love to hear about them! Actually I've just made up another resolution... use MORE Purple Pumpkin stuff! That's easy - so I'm not sure if that counts! LOL!

This word is a word that i think everyone has used in their lifetime. And maybe a word that is very appropriate for the New Year to some...

My layout is based on the latest challenge word over at Bird Is the Word.

I love the bright and big felt/lace flower which was in my DT pack and of course the spotty blue button - which goes with all kinds of layouts.

52 Week Layouts by Sar

I promised on my blog last week that I would be up to date on my 52 Weeks album by the end of 2011...

I NEARLY got there..missed it by that much! I have two layouts to go and I'm done...and I'm going to do my best to get these done today!

Here are the couple I did manage last week, the first on a scrap day with my gorgeous friend/workmate Carley & my bestie Alicia...and the other the same night when I was all enthused after the great day I'd had with the girls!

Week 46 - Weekend of Running Events
Me & my friends from the gym competing in not one but two running events back in November, both for charity, 10km the first day and 5km the next. Needless to say it was a BIG weekend for me exercise wise, but a weekend that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have used the November He's Savvy Kit for this one and thrown in a big red & white star Purple Pumpkin button in the bottom right corner.

Myself & my gorgeous family on Christmas morning. This is a traditional photo that we take of ourselves every xmas morning and also on the morning of all the kid's birthdays. This year we NEARLY forgot the photo, and we even had to drag the bikes back upstairs to get them in the shot!

I have used the Sold Out Merry Savvy Brights Kit and mixed in some Purple Pumpkin embellishments, including a pink doiley & a bright pink & white spotty button.

The 52 Week Album is something I have now done two years in a row. I absolutely love looking back on my year from week to week, some weeks we had so much going on and some weeks it was hard to find something to scrap about...but all in all, the story is told and this is something my whole family can enjoy. You should give it a go for 2012, I guarantee you'll love it too!

Hi everyone, it feels like a long time since I posted here, I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas!!

We spent ours with family and had an awesome day, the kids got only a few pressies this year, and loved them all. Zayne got a DS which he was especially happy about, and a Thomas the tank engine game to go with it, so when asked if Santa came, that's what he tells everyone he got, even though it was from us not Santa lol... On this page I have included some Purple Pumpkin tickets {my new favourite} a button, and of course some twine. I'm loving banners on my pages lately, and the twine is fantastic as a finisher for them!!

I know that Christmas is well and truly over but I have been wanting to use up some of my Christmas paper scraps and I thought, why not get started on next year's cards whilst I was still in the Christmas spirit.

I have used the Merry Savvy Brights kit from Scrapbook Savvy to create this set of 3 cards.

On the first card, I have used a large tree button.

The next one, a felt tree and some twine.

And the final card, a present button.

The buttons and felt tree came from my Christmas Lucky Dip from the last sale.

So who said PP embellishments had to be used on layouts, why not give some cards a try too.

Still well & truly in the Christmas spirit in my house, being on holidays from work and spending lots of time relaxing, eating, drinking, scrapping and playing with my kids & their new toys. Love it!

Here is a page I managed yesterday using the new Merry Savvy Traditional Kit from Scrapbook Savvy, combined with some awesome Purple Pumpkin buttons and twine which are always a great way to finish my page off.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I sure did and was thankful my boys didn't wake me til 7:30am this year (beats the 5am wake up call from most years)

I haven't had a chance to print out any new Christmas Pics as of yet - couldn't handle going to the shops Boxing Day...so I thought I would share this layout I have been working on for the last few days as a gift for my Very Bestest Friend Nicole

(who is the beautiful bride in this layout)

I have used some oldish Bo Bunny Papers 'Jazmyne' the pinks, purples and greens work so well together.
It may be a little hard to see, but I have crossed stitched along the middle join using some pink/white bakers twine from Purple Pumpkin...

I just love this XLarge Purple Spotted Button, it works well with this paper range...

Here is another close up showing another spotty button, but I have layered a Silver Butterfly on top of it, I have also used a pale pink doily behind this cluster.

We are now only down to single digits to the New Year, however you Celebrate the New Year please be Safe and have a wonderful time...Bring on 2012

I've included LOTS of festive Purple Pumpkin goodies on this one...

It's called "It's Santa!!" :) :)

Don't you just love scrapping these joyful layouts? I do! :D

I especially love scrapping these kinds of layouts when it's LADEN with so many lovely embellishments, from Purple Pumpkin! It's almost like trimming the tree! (Which I love to do too!)...

I've got PP Christmas buttons and die-cut doilies, plus traditional doilies...

I love the different sizes PP buttons come in. Just perfect (and uber cute!) :D

My three are getting so excited....

Its only 3 more sleeps until Santa comes with all the presents !! Mind you i am still wrapping presents. Normally i am done and dusted by now - bit slow this year..LOL..usually ALL organised!!

Well i don't think i have completed so many xmas projects in one year before...unbelievable...i don't normally scrap alot of xmas photos...but it has felt good this year.

and the buttons i got in my DT pack are gorgeous and so easy to pop into the middle of a flower as an embellishment.

Well i hope all our Purple Pumpkin bloggers have a wonderful Xmas and safe one too if you are travelling to see love ones xxx

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And feeling like it too....its manic in my house! Kids off school, hubby off work, last minute organising & menu planning happening, still more xmas parties this week...looking forward to Christmas day to relax (if you call making lunch for 19 relaxing?!).

Seeing as the silly season has well and truly struck, I thought I'd get my festive scrap on by working on a page of my neice Emma & I just before Christmas last year. I have based my page on Becci's December Sketch at Challenge Heaven and used the current Merry Savvy Traditional Kit available now at Scrapbook Savvy.

One week to go til Christmas, I know I still have heaps of things that need to be done...how about you?

...But there is ALWAYS time to Scrapbook, and so I would love to share with you a layout I did of my son Andy, He loves the Brisbane Lions and He asked me to scrap this photo of him all dressed up in his lions gear at a game we went to earlier this year in Brisbane.

Her I have used a yellow vinyl tag and attached some yellow bakers twine. A red vinyl cog (im loving these and do need to get some more next year...) and a Blue spotty button...

Good morning!

Just one more week until Christmas. I am organised early this year and I can't wait for next weekend to roll around.

I have one layout to share with you today and I'm keeping with the Christmas spirit. I did a little shoot with my boys earlier in the week and this is one of my favourite shots.

I have used a doilie and reindeer button that I got in my Christmas Lucky Dip at the last sale. A close up:

This week I have decided to share with you a layout I have done using the vinyl hearts from Purple Pumpkin!! I think this would have to be one of the first layouts I have done in a long, long time that doesn't include a Purple Pumpkin button!!

I love these vinyl hearts, and have used them a few times recently, I think I am now all out! Also included on this page is one of the new twine colours I got in the last sale.. Love it!

and one more little sneak, this is to be used as my CT example in an upcoming challenge at SUYS. Another cute little vinyl heart, and a button AND that cute little flower. That came in my latest order too ♥

I did not think i was going to get here today or any day for that matter....LOL...

You can certainly tell its Christmas time but with school ending as well, does not help the cause...its go,go,go...

I loved the little Xmas buttons which were in my DT pack. But i had to pick the right layout to use them on. Out came the camera for some candid camera shots of the girls - bobs your uncle i have a Christmas layout just perfect for my buttons...

Hello again, everyone! I thought I'd just pop up another post for y'all... as I had to take down my layout that I posted here this morning - look out for it soon in an upcoming issue of Scrapbooking Memories. :)

So I've got another share for you - this time it's a double layout called "Ouch!". I do love making double layouts, do any of you? They are a little more work, but they are really satisfying once completed!

Well this layout is based on a sketch at BasicGrey. I've used my sewing machine in a different way for this one - I used every single stitch available in turn around the whole two-page border... then ripped around the edges. :)

I had lots of fun creating this. :) I've got an awesome Purple Pumpkin Spotty Dotty Button on here, and I made my "O" by cutting out a closie photo of a plastered knee...

That twine bow is also from Purple Pumpkin (I'm addicted to using this baker's twine in a bow now - really flying through my stash doing this!!! LOL!!!)...

And so is my doily which I turned into a sun using BasicGrey stickers cut in half...

Okay that's all from me for now, I hope you all have time to join in with our Monthly Challenge! I know this time of the year can be busy, but it's also nice to take "time out" and have some "me time"... and this challenge is the perfect answer! :D

It's a Purple Pumpkin Christmas! :)

Hello! I've been scrapping some Christmas layouts lately - getting right into the "spirit" - and here I'd like to share one of my latest, laden with gorgeous Purple Pumpkin embellishments. :D

My layout is called "I (Heart) Xmas!!"...

I've used tickets, doilies - including mini ones, medium ones and die-cut ones made from paper (I got a gorgeous bunch of these paper doilies in my Girl Lucky Dip Bag... JOY!!!" :)...

And a twine bow, Spotty Dotty fabric button, a Santa fabric button, a cute gift-giving birdie fabric button (which I "squished" into the spotty dotty, before adhering with glue).

Plus two gorgeous squishy vinyl hearts (that make up part of my title) in red and green. I doodled on those... ;)

Paint, twine & big buttons by Sar

Three ingredients for the perfect scrapbook page...

- Paint
- Twine
- and one big button!

Of course, you'll need to throw in some super cute photos and a bit of style...but with these three things included you can't go wrong.

I love that with paint will make the perfect background if I don't have the right paper....twine is the essential addition of interest to a page...and buttons, do I even have to explain?! There is the perfect Purple Pumpkin button for every layout you make!

I would like to share with you today a layout I created during the week, with some old photos of my Uncle when he was younger fixing an old car of his.

Here you can see an orange vinyl cog that I got from my 'boy' lucky dip from the resent Purple Pumpkin Sale...I also added a small pale blue spotty button...

Here I have used an orange doily again from the 'boy' lucky dip, some yellow tickets and a small vintage button that I got in a vintage pack from Purple Pumpkin awhile ago...

One of the things I never scrapbook enough, is the funny little phrases my kids say. I always have the best intentions to do it, but before long they stop saying it, and I forget about it!

I have just used a portrait photo of Zayne for this one, as obviously I can't get a photo of him saying it lol.

He has recently entered the terrible three's, and has started with the tantrums and whingeing a lot... On the occassions he gets sent for a sleep after a big tanty he will come out 5 minutes later and tell me he is 'so happy now'... I have made this layout using what was left of my November She's Savvy kit, adding in plenty of Purple Pumpkin embellies here and there! I have used tickets, a doilie, a cute little teddy fireman button, a felt flower and of course my favourite, some twine!

Just a little closeup of the embellies... Love the dimension they give!

Well this Xmas we are really lucky to have a baby in the house. My brother and his wife have been trying for quiet some time to start a family - finally they succeeded and Alexa was born last month on the 14th Nov.

It feels great to go shopping for a new baby(and i can handle girl things i think!!!LOL) and i can get clucky and spoil and give back to mum and dad.

So this is a pic of Alexa just a couple of weeks old. My kids are glad for an extra edition to the family cause that means not as many photos of them instead now..LOL...

I gave the yellow doily a little spritz of glimmer mist to antique it just a bit so it would compliment the Simple Stories paper. That is one of the many things I love about this hobby. There is very little, if anything, that we can't do if we set our mind to it...kind of like life. With that deep thought, I'll sign off for today.

Hello! It's Chantal here with you today. I would like to share with you all an example layout I did recently for challenge blog, Get Picky, using lots of lovely assorted Purple Pumpkin goodies...

My layout is all about my daughter Lucy's love of BOOKS!

Look at that large owl fabric button - sooo cute! I've stuck it on top of a blue doily and tucked a yellow vinyl heart underneath and stapled it so you can see it's "squishiness". ;) This is all Purple Pumpkin stuff!

Here's some more...

A lovely alphabet button (how appropriate!), green doily and a green and white Baker's Twine bow. :D

I've fingerpainted the border around my photos... FUN!

The bright yellow paper you can just see amongst the layering is cardstock, spray painted (in black) over an old alpha negative chipboard sheet. :)

I've also cut up a bit of a doily into a kind of ribbon shape, which is on the top left of my layout.

I love the fact that when I have a good stash of Purple Pumpkin goodies happening, I always seem to have the PERFECT embellishment! Be it for it's theme, colour, texture, or a combination of all three! They really add that perfect finishing touch to your project. :D

I received my girl's lucky dip bag last week with a little Christmas bag of goodies too... it was THE BEST! Lots of fun, gorgeous stuff to use! If you ordered one or more of these, you will not be disappointed, believe me! :D

Love the artist that's inside you...

We all have our own style with how we scrap. I struggle to put myself into a category at times because I don't believe I have just one style. I always get a feel with the papers I use.
Some could be bright and fun, others could be vintage looking, I just scrap how I feel is the easiest way to put it!
I know some people that create layouts and then judge themselves to other peoples work and then dislike what they have done, my message is to 'Love the artist that's inside you' its YOUR layout, YOUR memory, YOUR way!

Here is a layout I have created...its a pic of me - reminding myself to do exactly that... 'Love the artist that's inside you'

I have used Kaiser Craft 'Madame Boutique 6.5x6.5 paper pad, Kraft paper, Kaiser craft lace, Purple Pumpkin Owl Button, Purple Pumpkin Brown Felt and lace Flower, Brown Bakers Twine and Green Tickets -also from Purple pumpkin.

A close up of the felt and lace flower, these are stunning flowers, and also come in a range of colours!

I have had this owl in my stash for a little while now and have been wanting to use it for ages, he is so cute!
I used the brown and white bakers twine as a bow on the tag.

Here is a close up of the green tickets i have used...I used them instead of matting my photo.

Don't you just love that cute little mushroom face?? This whole page makes me smile and I couldn't help but laugh through the whole sprinkler experience. I love how scrapbooking allows us to preserve these precious memories so we never forget.

Hello everyone! It's Chantal here with you today. Hey, did you read yesterday's post - what exciting news! It's all happening here! :)

Today I'd like to share a layout with you all using LOTS of Purple Pumpkin buttons...

My title is "You Adore the Outdoors". And there are FIVE Purple Pumpkin buttons on it. That's a new record for me! ;)

My background was made by spraying glimmermist over white cardstock - but here was my lightbulb moment - over half-cut flowers (which act as clouds). Cool hey? I've got WAAAY too many flowers - yucky, feral-looking ones too - so I need to find new ways to use them up because I don't scrap with them much... ;)

Here's a closie of two cute Spotty Dotty buttons and a scooter button here...

The scooter button tied in really well with these scooting pics! Don't you just love that - having exactly the right item for your project in your stash? It's like it's just meant to be!

I made a sun with a XL PP Spotty Dotty Button and a doodled sticker underneath...
