"All grown up" By Vicky Varvadouka

"All Grown Up"

Hello my friends!
A while ago I made this layout which is all about the friendship between my little girls and my
Godchild Andriana! They've known each other since they were
born and they feel like sisters!

To create the background, I have used two stencils and texture paste.
I then used orange and light blue chalk inks as well as some
glimmer mists to give colour! I have also stamped randomly around
 the page with background stamps.

You can see a cute little Purple Pumpkin flair button with tiny hearts!

The light blue doily and the orange resin are from Purple Pumpkin!

Thanks for visiting PP blog today!!!
Have a nice day!!

Bed Of Roses By Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Welcome to our Purple Pumpkin friends! Can you believe that the first month of spring is nearly over? Wow, time just seems to be flying by. I cannot believe that I have been part of this awesome Purple Pumpkin Design Team for six months. But unfortunately, the time has now come to say good-bye. Today, I am sharing my final post. But don't be sad - there are new team members, with lots of new inspiration, heading your way. I am sure they will share many amazing projects with you.

"Life Is Not A Bed Of Roses"
While visiting the Adelaide Show earlier this month, I came across this floral display in the craft section. Isn't it amazing! I knew it needed a layout that was a little different, and a little special. So I decided to play with some embossing enamel (the gold chevron background) and Croco Crackling medium to see what I could come up with. And I finished it all off with Dylusions, Glimmermists, stamping, and rhinestones.

I wanted to create a layout that was a little romantic, and a little grungy, all at the same time. So I started by adding a satin bloom flower to the page. And I added two resin flowers to the centres of the butterflies. Flowers are always a romantic touch.

I love peacocks - they are just so colourful and beautiful, so these fabric peacock buttons were a  perfect addition to this page. I've added  die cut paper doilies underneath to create a circular decorative border around the buttons.

I have used the green polka dot washi tape to help create a border and frame around my photograph (it also helps to hold down the die cut burlap paper).

Don't forget, all these cute and funky products can be found in the Purple Pumpkin store - and it is the little things like this that make your projects unique and individual.

It has been an honour, and absolute pleasure, to be part of this team for six months, and to have the opportunity to share my work with you. Thank-you for all your comments and love, they have been greatly appreciated. :-)

Cheers,
Julianne.

Our Family by Judith

Good morning, Judith here with my last share of the month. I've had this photo waiting to be scrapped for a while. It was taken last year when my FIL came to visit from Mildura, the first time he has been down since moving up there in 2003. As we don't see him that often, we decided to get a family photo. I decided to go with something a bit more simple in style this time.  The colours in the Teresa Collins Family Stories Collection were perfect and I found some Purple Pumpkin embellishments to match.

Here I have layered two Purple Pumpkin vinyl hearts with an orange ticket.

Some black loops washi tape, orange vinyl cog and pink fabric button.

Some more black loop washi tape.

Thanks for looking.

"Remember" by Vicky Varvadouka

"Remember"

Hello my friends!!
This is a layout I made about my grandmother and great-grandmother!!
The base is chipboard so I could easily play around with mixed media
techniques, misting, stamping, heat embossing!!! Here in Greece, fall is
coming so I have used fall colors!!!

I have used this gorgeous new Scrapmatts chipboard Window CB5102, which I have covered with gesso, distress inks (orange, green, brown) and distress heat embossing powder in walnut stain! The word "Remember" and the swirls below my main cluster, were made the same way but instead of the embossing powder, I used crackle accents on top!!
I have also used a small pigeon painted white!

I have also used Purple Pumpkin fabric and wooden buttons, craft tag and crochet doilies!!

Thanks for visiting PP blog today!!!
Hugssssss!!!!

Flutter By Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Welcome to the weekend, Purple Pumpkin friends. Have you got something exciting planned?
Today I am sharing a very bright and colourful layout, using more of the gorgeous Purple Pumpkin products

I took this photo at the recent Adelaide Show, and knew that I wanted to create something special, and something colourful. In actual fact, I have created this layout on a 12"x12" sheet of chipboard, as cardstock would not have been strong enough. I have created the butterfiles with texture paste and kindy glitz, and I have used Dylusions, Glimmermists, and Glimmer Glaze, to create the background. The top and bottom borders were created with chevron blue washi tape from the Purple Pumpkin store

If you look closely, you can see that I have tucked a Purple Pumpkin crochet doily in behind the picture, and I have used a fabric button as a base for my butterfly.

I have used Purple Pumpkin twine to create a sense of movement cross the layout. It's easy to do - just allow the tape to randomly twist and twirl across the page, then gently glue it down in several spots so it doesn't move.

And of course, I have finished off my layout with some bling (rhinestones and glitter) and a little stamping for a grungy effect.

Thank-you for joining me today,
and I hope you are having an awesome weekend!

Julianne.

Movie Night layout by Yvonne Yam

One of my fave things in the Purple Pumpkin store are the tickets. They are so easy to use. Tuck them under a photo as a tab or use it to write the date for your layout. Instant chic.

The other thing I love are the fabric buttons. The variety in the Purple Pumpkin store is staggering and always updated with new designs. You are sure to find something that will help you jazz up your next project.

Till the next time...

Strapped in by Judith

Good morning and welcome to a new week. This morning I have a recent layout to share with you that I did for a recent sketch challenge.
I'm loving Dylusion sprays at the moment and used two different ones and some water to create the background for this layout. I also applied some ink through a stencil at the bottom of my photo in pink and orange.

Some close ups of my Purple Pumpkin goodies.
An XL pink starry fabric button

And here I used some black loops washi tape and covered some pieces of chevron chipboard with it.

I used some tape for the journalling .Check out all the different coloured Motex tape from the shop.

Don't forget to give our sketch challenge a go this month. You have to be in it to win it!!

I Smile Because Of You by Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Back in August, while at the annual Camp Mojo Retreat, I attended two classes taught by the amazing Louise Nelson. Today, I am sharing one of the layouts that I created in her class.

Louise's classes are all about the techniques. So we had a lot of messy fun, learning new ways to play with products. But it also allowed me to look at scrapbooking in a whole new light. And to think about trying things that I would never have thought of before.

Using the techniques that Louise taught me, I was able to highlight certain embellishments, in a totally different way. By layering a flower on the Purple Pumpkin blue crochet doily, I was able to create a point of focus, bringing your eye to this corner and the photo.

And the blue polka-dot fabric button? Well, I just threw that in there for fun, and a dash of whimsical. :-)

By using a lot of Purple Pumpkin blue twine swirled across the background, I was able to use this as my anchor for my photo and other embellishments.

I just love how these splashes of vibrant blue (and yellow), just pop off the page. And the textured background, and splatters of spray mists, help keep the page balanced and interesting.

Thank-you for joining me today. I hope I have helped inspire you to try something new, something different, or something a little outside of the box. Experimenting and playing is ALWAYS a good thing!!!

Squid Squad layout by Yvonne Yam

There's nothing quite like enjoying street food when you are in Taiwan. This layout is all about my family enjoying some barbecued squid.

I love how easy it is to use the embellishments from the Purple Pumpkin store. Can you spy the twine, the ticket and the pretty butterfly button? Just some of the sweet offerings at the Purple Pumpkin store!

Best Buds by Karen Grose

Hello PP fans, hope you're all having a great week.  I'm here to hopefully inspire you again today with my latest PP creation.  This was a "just because" LO.

"Best Buds"

Plenty of fabulous PP embellies on this LO including tickets, twine, washi tape and 2 of the large fabric patterned buttons.  Lots of misting, painting and stamping on here too to create a grungy feel to match the picture :)

A close up of the buttons

That's it today :)  Hope you all have a scrappy week :)

Too Tall by Judith

Good morning and welcome to the start of another week. Today I have a layout to share with you that I completed recently for a colour challenge. I had fun creating the background using Dylusions spray, water and a Crafters Workshop template. Then I added more chevrons using ink. I also used some Viva Decor Ferro texture paint to add the brick wall using another template.

Some close ups of my Purple Pumpkin goodies. This XL fabric button started life as blue, white and yellow but because I needed orange I just altered the colour using a normal texta. Worked a treat. You would never know!

Another Purple Pumpkin spotty fabric button teamed up with some blue chevron washi tape.

Other Purple Products I have used: Grey polka dot washi tape and an orange spotty fabric button.

Well that's me done for today. Hope you got some inspiration.

This LO is of my son celebrating 100 days of Prep.  On here I've used a couple of the fabric buttons and a ticket.  Love how the buttons finish off a LO, and the apple matched perfectly with the papers on this one :)
