Miss Independent Layout by Helen Tilbury

Hello there Purple Pumpkin fans!  HELEN here again to share this layout with you, created for the Crate Challenge 'Love Red'.  Well this year is all about using up my huge stash so I loved hauling out my folder full of Crate Paper & digging about for some RED.

Just look at all that delicious Purple Pumpkin WASHI TAPE.  You can purchase some of that for yourself HERE.  The Purple Pumpkin store is CHOCKABLOCK FULL of a gigantic variety of washi at an excellent price!  All your washi needs fulfilled in one place!!

This year I've also dug out my old Dymo & what a blast I am having with it!  Gives my pages a kind of retro feel I think!  More washi there under the title at the top - do you see it?  Hearts and all....yum...

I have lots and lots of little bits of paper & various half-filled sticker sheets from Crate Paper so this challenge was a great way to get me to use up a little pile of it on this page.  When faced with lots of off-cuts LAYERING is the key - just tuck in all those bits!  Then add a piece of torn washi - yes TORN looks best.  Like you did it in a rush!!  {A bit like Kate Moss with her hairdo}

I used an XL picture button available HERE. I tied my journaling in with it by talking about my daughter buying her first pot plant :)  See that lovely red splotch up in the left hand corner?  Want to achieve a nice SPLAT like that?!  Then put your layout on the FLOOR, stand over it, unscrew the cap of your mist (after giving it a light shake) then flick the wand down towards your paper & you will get a light smattering of mist & hopefully a nice splat or two as well.

I hope you enjoyed my page.  If you would like to visit my blog you can find it HERE.

2 Layouts to share - Crece

Hello everyone, hope your week has been good so far. Here in QLD it has been pouring with rain, making it awesome conditions for Scrapping!!!
Today I would like to share 2 layouts I created, both featuring my older son, Andy.

The first one is called 'The eyes are the windows to the soul'

This was taken the first year I took the boys to the Toowoomba Carnival of flowers, Andy was sitting in the gutter waiting for the parade to start and was able to snap this beautiful photo of him...

and here is a close up of the Purple Pumpkin I have used..

Yellow Vinyl Heart, Small crochet orange flower and Owl Button

*

This second layout is an old photo of Andy, he was around 5, and loved wearing his sunglasses everywhere...

'My future looks bright, ive gotta wear shades'

and some close ups...

Here I have used the felt star and white/pale blue bakers twine.
I have had this star in my stash for awhile now and have been wanting to use it for ages, the papers in this range work well with the yellow/blue combo of the star embellishment

here I have used a cloud button. I love these buttons they are so cute.

Don't forget to get your February Sketches in by Midnight tomorrow for your chance to win a prize!
Have a great day

Measuring Time - by Sarah G

We have a tradition in our family that a couple of times a year - and always around birthdays, we measure the kids against the passage cupboard door. Benji had his 4th birthday last week so it was measuring time! I snapped these cute photos of natalie measuring him. he looks so serious and proud of how much he has grown (he is actually really small for his age).

Most of my papers are from Teresa Collins's 'He Says' collection. You really should check out the new TC papers - they are gorgeous! I  used a lot of Purple Pumpkin goodies on this page.

The fabric 'bicycle' button is resting on a crocheted doily - both from PP. The cute tickets and washi tape strips are also PP products.

One of my favourite things to add to my pages right now is baker's twine. here I have wrapped it around the Studio Callico wooden camera for added interest. PP has a huge variety of colours of twine to match any project.
Have a great day :

Passport photo shoot by Judith

Morning everyone. Thankfully today is a lot cooler here in Victoria after a run of 6 days over 30C.

Today I have a layout to share with you which was for a challenge which involved using no patterned paper and to use washi tape.

At one time I think I would have found this difficult to do but today with the mass abundance of washi tape and other non paper embellishments it is easy.
I began by stamping a gridded background stamp around where my photos were to do and then flicked some red and black ink/mist. I had all these ideas of doing stripes of washi tape but when I put a frame of washi tape around my photos I thought that looked good as it was. I added a couple of strips of washi tape to the top corner. I also stuck some washi tape to some white cardstock and used some die cuts to produce the chevron shape and the star under the button. A couple of Purple Pumpkin embellishments finished it off a treat.

Here's some close ups. Here I used a clown fabric button.

And here I used a pirate button round.

You can find loads of different rolls of washi tape here in the Purple Pumpkin Shop.
Why don't you challenge yourself to create a layout using them?

Little Girls Are Precious Gifts by Debbie

Good morning everyone, Debbie here with you today to share a layout I create for a couple of challenges using some Purple Pumpkin embellishments.

A while back I purchased a Silhoutte cameo and have used their "tattoo heart" cut
for the backing of my photo.

I did a lot of punch work on this layout and added a couple of beautiful flower clusters.
I used a fabric button from Purple Pumpkin in this cluster:

and here is a closeup of the Purple Pumpkin fabric button:

I backed my photo with a peach felt doily from Purple Pumpkin:
I love how well the fabric button and felt doily blended with the Basic Grey Serenade papers!

Don't forget you still have time to enter our February sketch challenge.  Check out the details and prize information here.

Thanks for stopping by!

"Live,love,create" by Vicky

Hello everyone!

This time I had help form my two little daughters to make this layout!
I stamped a house image by Susan K.Weckesser and they colored it! I took some photos of them to capture the moment!

Here is the final layout! Every child next to its own little house!!

Here is another stamp and the house has been cut out from Susan's paper collection.
Don't you just LOVE these vibrant PP washi tapes???

This flair button was perfect for the layout!!!

and here is another spotty PP button!!

So, why don't you try that out??? I promise that your children will love the idea of playing with mama's "forbidden" goodies and the outcome will be a precious layout that captivates a precious memory!!!

p.s. Here are the "Art" quotes that I've written around the page:

1. A work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament.
2. The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
3. Every artist was first an amateur.
4. Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.
5. In art, the hand can never execute anything higher than the heart can imagine.
6. In art as in love, instinct is enough.

Have a nice creative day and have fun!!!
Hugsss

Valentines Day SALE - ON NOW!!!

'Your Shelter' Layout by Helen Tilbury

Hi there :)  Helen here with another layout for you - this one was inspired by
the Prima Product Pick for February.  It's primarily a colour challenge and,
being Valentine's month {and day today!  Happy Valentine's Day!!} they are
primarily pinks, reds & purples.  As I have LOADS of flowers in my stash
I had no problem coming up with this layout...

I used the B side of an older Prima paper from the Paradise City
Collection (2009 - go me!) & prepared it by first stencilling over
an antique plastic doily (using Hard Molding paste by Golden)
then misting with several colours and brands of mist, including
white {Calico White by Studio Calico} that I simply ♥!!

Now can you spot all the Purple Pumpkin goodness in here??
Firstly I used a red lace flower (cut in half - go for it!) from
the store HERE.  I also used another ribbon lace flower (the
beige one on the left of the photo) which I also cut in half.

It's a great way to save & spread your embellishments around
your pages.  You can buy similar ones HERE.  See the cameo in
the top left corner of the photo?  That is also a Purple Pumpkin
one which is not currently available but there are similar resin
flowers available for purchase in the store HERE.

Above you can see the red lace flower really clearly.  I sponged it
with gesso & used the other 1/3 of it up above my photo underneath
my title.  I also used a LARGE and an XLARGE fabric button
here, under the photo, which you can buy HERE and HERE.

I also used some Purple Pumpkin washi tape in various places
on my layout (I find the best way to do this on shabby style layouts
is to tear it).  You can buy that HERE.  A HUGE selection at
the best price (I can see!) online!!  I also used another resin flower
cameo in this cluster & also a felt doily-die-cut from a past 'Limited
Edition' kit - so there is PLENTY of Purple Pumpkin product here.

Here you can see lots of little bits of the torn washi tape I used.
I really loved creating this layout - everything just came together
without a hitch & it helped me enjoy and deplete a significant
amount of my Prima stash too.  I hope you enjoyed your peek
at my latest Purple Pumpkin page!

Hello from Sarah G

Hello from beautiful, sunny NZ. I have two pages that I would like to share with you today.

Here is my first one. My baby turned 4 at the weekend and I took hundreds of photos ofcourse. I loved this one as soon as I saw it and knew that it deserved its own page. Look at that cute little face and those four pudgy little fingers :)
I used October Afternoon's 'Cakewalk' collection to scrap this one. I love the colours and they matched this photo really well. I did lots of distressing and inking of my background before layering on my papers.
Check out the cute layered cogs in the bottom right hand corner of the photo. They are from Purple Pumpkin as is the cute little flair button that I used as a centre. They really do add the finishing touch to this page. The bakers twine that my banners are hanging from is also PP and there are a huge range of colours available to suit any page.

My second page shows how just one carefully selected accent can really make a page 'pop'

Check out the cloud button (top right corner of the photo). These little buttons are amongst my all time favourite PP products. They are so cute and look great on almost any page. After all it is often just the little details that make a page really special.
Have a great day wherever you are - and don't forget to check out the PP shop there are lots of new items to drool over!

Cheeky Smirk by Judith

Good morning. Running a little late today as life seems to be very hectic at the moment. DH starts a new job tomorrow so hopefully we will be able to get back into a routine then.
Today I have a layout to share with you of my son. The photo I have used is one I only recently discovered on a CD from many years ago which also held missing photos of my sons 6th birthday party. (He is now 16!). This layout features one of my favourite colour combinations - red and black. I have used a giant playing card which I received in a recent Purple Pumpkin boy goodie bag. I cut the card up to make it even bigger, strategically placing pieces of patterned paper over the gaps/joins. This is a good tip for making things go further.

Here are some close ups of my clusters using some Purple Pumpkin goodies.
In this one I used a black vinyl cog and a pirate felt round.

In this cluster I have used 2 types of washi tape, a black vinyl heart and a red spotty button.

All for now. Don't forget to join in with our sketch challenge.

Love You by Debbie

It's my turn today to share a layout with you that I created for a friend of mine.   Her daughter is a delight and I always enjoy when I have some pictures of her to use.
I love the new Renew Collection by Authentique.  I used several papers from the collection and added in some pops of pink.

I added some Purple Pumpkin embellishments in my cluster which match the Authentique papers perfectly.

Here I've used a fabric flower.

And here I have used a white text button along with some small crochet flowers:

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend and don't  forget about our February Sketch Challenge.
You can find all of the details here.

Thanks for stopping by!
